Physicality + skills + athleticism + psychology. Psychological factors like ring IQ, focus, confidence, determination and fighting instincts are hugely important as well. Experience is also vital and fighters only get that through facing many different styles and body types over a long period of time at a high level.
Joshua would be blowing out his arse after 3 rounds if he did. He used to have zero confidence in his stamina at 250+ lbs
I voted no because he should come at 300 pounds. He bullies Usyk against the ropes for 3 rounds, then Usyk starts slapping him and AJ falls down from the exertion.
AJ genetically doesn’t have the frame to carry 265lbs and maintain any semblance of athleticism. Just look at how narrow his clavicles and shoulders are. Without the gear he’d be much smaller.
He should be bigger than that. Maybe 300, like Fury. Let's see which british boxer is better at that weight
Joshua paid a big price in my view for bulking up to face big baby Miller. He looked a far bette fighter in his second Ruiz jr fight and I reckon around that should be his optimum fighting weight.
He doesn't need to lose that much weight, it's just a case of managing resources. AJ doesn't need to slaughter fighters throughout the fight. Look at what happened to Povetkin. AJ and Povetkin boxed each other, then 7th round AJ unleashes an assault and takes him out. Aj learned a lot with his fight vs Wlad, how to manage his energy and unleash deadly combos when and where necessary, or else he'll gas out. AJ only gasses out when he's tried to finish someone off. AJ is a smarter fighter now than he was.
