100% But AJ kinda does that all the time, and it works against big slow opponents. He seems to overlook the attributes of smaller, dangerous guys every time. Nothing in his training indicates he's training for it either.

Definitely not taking anything away from Dubois at all.

He fought an excellent fight with grit thrown in.

He took some big shots himself but remained true to his game plan - always firing back to keep AJ honest.

AJ’s executions toward the end of the fight were a mixed bag and the fight turned on him again upon receipt of a big shot (not the final KO shot).

He caught Daniel with a terrific right hand that shook Dubois and caused him to step back. AJ then landed another 1 or 2 good right hands, not quite with same heat but his follow ups were on the right track.

But then Dubois settled him up again with his own right hand - AJ then had that look of being hurt and lost again and he then attempted an uppercut that wasn’t on and that left him wide open for the fight ending right hand.

I like Dubois and I am very much looking forward to seeing him fight again.

I'll be honest, I thought AJ would win but bet on Dubois as an outside chance with good odds, but Dubois looked fantastic. As the commentators said "He's fighting like a prime Mike Tyson". As a Tyson fan of almost 40 years even I had to agree. It was pretty much flawless. I don't think AJ expected it.

This is pretty funny. It's absolutely true 35 years isn't prime, especially with big afletes. AJ isn't the same as he was in his 20's.

But AJ is getting excuses at 35 when for years people have claimed his three gold-medal opponents (Wlad 41, Povetkin 39 and Pulev 40) were not significantly depleted.

Imagine AJ at 40 fighting Wlad/Povetkin/Pulev even Helenius all in their prime years. He's getting KO'd by all of them. Probably most of his opponents beat him actually, definitely Parker/Takam/Wallin.

I’ll be honest too. I was going to lay about $20 on Dubois for a KO round 5 - or, more likely, I might’ve grouped rounds 4-6.

I hadn’t put a bet on in ages, couldn’t remember my password (lol) late at night and couldn’t be bothered doing a reset.

I know most here have a much better handle than casuals but imo, the bookies had this one quite wrong with the odds they were offering -

    - the odds suggesting that it was more of a reasonably calculated upset than it actually was. A very good fight to place a bet on.

Basically all his big wins were against 40 year olds with zero reflexes left

I think it’s more that he fought a stupid fight.
    His defense was absolute sh!t
    Rewatch it
his hands were down the majority of the fight unless he was rocked or hurt pulling straight back with his hands down & chin exposed.
Credit to dubiou AJ had a terrible but Terrible strategy / game plan.

credit to Dubois for going all out.
