joshua has to first solve martins straight left he might not be able to get out of the way of it. if joshua takes his time / does not get caught up with the hugew crowd nboise there will be everytime he throws a punch/ takes a look at martin early and box cautiously early 1 or 2 rounds then he will realise that martin has really the 1 punch in his ****nal and start timing him. no need to try and impress in the first few rounds and try to get him out of there. if it comes early then thats fine. if joshua brings a cool head and a gameplan / somnething he admits went out the window v whyte then he wins by ko / if not he makes the fight much tougher for himself than it needs to be. martin has size /southpaw stance/nice straight left / but thats basically it his power is thudding but not explosive /his defense is poor /his right hand is non exsistent /his feet are average / his beard is unknown but i suspect decent / v glaskov he looked fine but glaskov is 6.0 and has no power and the fight has no real bearing v joshua. the main doubt is how joshua fights a southpaw who is the same size as him /some good fighters just cannot fathom the southpaw stance . but i would make joshua a strong favourite on abilty he is faster /much more explosive /uses both hands /technically much more rounded fighter / experince they have about the same / which is not much./ the dylan whyte fight might help joshua stick to a gameplan v martin if he has learned his lessons from the mistakes he made . after that as brighton bomber has said this is to early for joshua and he will have to learn as he goes. he has enough IMO v martin but is far from the fighter he will be in 3 years time and might come unstuck if they pick or have to pick an ortiz /pulev/ wilder/povetkin /parker / opponent if he gets through martin.
:nod Those picking Martin need to realise that he has only taken this fight to cash out. He looked around the IBF top 15 and probably thought 'all of these guys handle me, I'm losing in my first defence, who gives me the biggest payday'. Of course the answer was Joshua (who also gives him the worst beating, in the unlikely event he doesn't quit as soon as Josh turns the heat up) with the lucrative Britsh box office money and arena selling out in minutes he brings to the table. Another British champ One less American champ. Expect a lethal does of BUTTHURT here around 23.00 GMT on April 9th :deal
Boxing is mainly a UK dominated sport as PED testing has got stricter, ergo we have 12 world champions and the closet nations have only 3 quarters have that. :nod
Joshua fans were saying Joshua would destroy Dillian Whyte in 1 or 2 rounds too. Martin is possibly not a particularly good fighter but he might be good enough to give Joshua a good fight. They are both novices really. The "cashing out" thing is way off. Martin is taken on a good young fighter, much-hyped Olympic champion, for BIG MONEY, a risky fight, and a chance to get his name out there. That's not cashing out, it's what anyone wearing a belt SHOULD be doing. It's crazy. People complain when Wilder makes 3 fraud defences and milks the WBC belt, but then they mock Martin for being "cashed out" when he steps up and makes a legit defence of his IBF. atsch
