Very fair summary. My gut feeling is that DAZN will break the bank to get him. There's little doubt that Sky remains a bigger platform, but Joshua could drive traffic to DAZN like no other boxer. Only time will tell though. Can't imagine any deal will be signed until the location of his next fight is known.
Defeat to Usyk again and in the eyes of the casual fans (his target audience) he is no longer elite. Casual fans great when you are on top but are a very fickle bunch.
True, at least in the eyes of sensible people. But constant defeat hasn't seemed to harm Chisora's popularity, as @Jurgen points out. (if it sounds like I'm defending the popularity of constant losers, I'm not, just stating that the popularity exists)
Even if AJ were to lose a return fight to Usyk, I do not think it would hurt AJ's ability to sell PPVs in the future. He would still be "big box office".
Don't think a loss does that. Its more about the nature of a defeat. If his in a good fight and loses people will still pay for the next fight.
I don't think you can compare AJ and Chisora in this context- fighting on despite defeats. Del for all the entertainment he provides and he is fun to watch at times obviously has no sense of pride when it comes to these things and is so thick skinned and money hungry that he is happy to fight on in his late 30's with 11 loses on his record. I personally have no issue with that (it's his health and his life) but it's not a position which many fighters at a good level who are financially secure would put themselves in. He is an exception to the rule. You won't see Anthony Joshua do the same. Now that it's 98% clear his next fight is Usyk, if he loses to him again and it is comprehensive or he gets stopped his time as a boxer is limited. Not because he can't get other good fights though- he could easily. Because I doubt weather he would want those fights and how he would motivate himself for them. I think he can and probably will fight Fury at some point regardless of what happens with Usyk as the money on offer to both of them regardless of titles is just too big. After that though I am not sure we will see much more of him in the ring. His recent interviews also don't paint a good picture. He seems all over the place.
Tyson lost twice to holyfield. Tyson is still more popular though. I think if Joshua loses its just a 2 fight rebuild and then fight fury. It will still sell, and there will Still be people thinking Joshua knocks him out.
