Apart from bulldozing his way through wlad and getting an early devastating ko i just can't see how Joshua beats him. Whilst i freely admit that i believe Joshua is a total hype job I'm trying to be objective here. Can anyone actually see any other outcome other than a wlad win by mid to late stoppage providing he stays awake?

All AJ has to do is turn up.

But seriously, Wlad is a shot fighter. He has punchitis which often happens to fighers in their 40s, and can no longer pull the trigger. He stunk the ring out against both Jennings and Fury and has not looked good in the ring since Nov 2014 against Pulev.

AJ will out punch Wlad in range, and win convincingly. There is no size difference in terms of reach. This will not be a jab and grab style fight,or a pot shot at a distance style fight. Or anything like the Fury fight. It will be straight up combat in the pocket, with one man coming out on top.

Wlad has the theoretical advantage in style and experience, however theoretical advantages are only true in theory and not in practice.

This fight will be a demonstration of the actual ravages of old age on the human body and how every fighter will lose to father time. It will still be a great and legacy defining win for AJ, but no one can pretend that AJ was fighting anything other than a 41 year old who is past it.

No chance in hell AJ can outbox Wlad like Fury. He has to go in there and throw bombs from the off and hope Wlad freezes and truly is shot to pieces.

    Yes exactly.

When your opponent is 41 years old and suffered from punchitis in his last 2 fights, that approach is the winning approach.

Unless Wlad can suddenly reinvigorate himself and cure the punchitis (which has no known cure), he is getting stopped in Corrie Saunders style.

Wlad is losing. He won't thrown enough punches as Joshua will stop him late.

Would love to see Wlad beat Joshua tbh

But I don't think he will have/show enough to win the fight, Joshua is no boxer like Fury so he can't think he can fight a fight like that but I think he will coast it for a few rounds and then just steam in and get the KO but I'm hoping Wlad has dug something up from within himself and will beat Joshua! Very unlikely though

I don't see how he can win boxing on the outside even against a shopworn Wlad.

I think Joshs power will be just to much for Wlad but Joshua needs to be smart look to set Wlad up and pop him when Wlad tries to tie him up on the inside, I think fight will be won with a mid range uppercut from Josh.

I think AJ needs to keep switched on to the lead left hook.. and especially when Wlad hooks off the jab e.g. Pulev.

After seeing big Josh walked onto that left hook from Whyte, I think Wlad will see that as his money shots.... and not many throw a better left hook than Wlad.

Whether he can pull the trigger or not and land it, that's the question.

You see the common thread is Hope. It all hinges on if Vlad is shot. If Vlad can't pull the trigger. And when Joshua knocks him out. If that's Ajs game plan then it's a poor one. It's a lose lose for Aj. If Vlad gets him missing he's gassing and getting stopped

The last guy that came out the gate at Wlad was Pulev and he took a beating. I think Joshua will go for the KO though, he can't outbox Wlad and anyone that thinks otherwise needs to stop smoking spice.

    Good post.

I'm amazed that so many AJ fans fail to see how vulnerable he is against anybody with any sort of timing.

Wlad looks wooden, but his timing and power are very very good, and lets not pretend that Whyte is a massive puncher who threw a huge looping left hand when he wobbled AJ. Whytes so called power never once deterred nor troubled Chisora, and the punch that he hit AJ with only travelled about 14 inches and had AJ's senses scrambled.

If Wlad has anything left i think AJ is in for a very long night at the end of Wlads left jab, and if he tires or gets too aggressive he could walk onto something big.

Klit will throw and counter and hold, it will be an terrible watch until the first man lands on the button. AJ has no chance of boxing on the outside he just has to pass the jab threat and smash his way to the win but Vlad will be grabbing at every chance so referee is vital.....does anyone know who it is?

I was thinking this the other night. I'm struggling to see how AJ gets past that jab.

Fury was a lot bigger, and really farted about throwing a lot of faints and keeping out of trouble picking off the odd jab and throwing unorthodox punches. The complete opposite of AJ.

Unless AJ tries to take him out early and gets lucky I can't see any other way of him winning.

Yes klitschko is getting on and could be passed it but for years he kept fighters on the end of that jab for 12 boring rounds can it still be that difficult?

AJ is powerful but is very upright and has a typical orthodox style, I'm a fan but I just don't think he has enough in his arsenal to make this difficult.

If vlad can still pull the trigger on that big leaping left hook he took pulev out with then I see AJ getting caught and stopped with that.

No way is Klitschko gonna let himself get into AJ's range for a big shot so AJ is going to have to play this like a fencing match and rack up the points. Something he has never had to do in the pros. He's a one trick pony at the minute, he's never had to have been anything else.

If these were lower weight fighters then age would play more of a factor but for big heavyweights, I don't think 41 is too old, especially for a fighter who has really looked after himself and not really suffered any huge knockouts.

    Heart says Joshua on points.
    Head says Klitschko on points.

    Definitely a 12 rounder.

The closer the fight gets the more certain I am Wladimir wins IF he is carrying no injury and in top condition.
