Its actually simply because Frank Warren was right He said it all along that they dont sell out in minutes like matchroom always used to say, it was simply stubhub etc buying 20,000 in one go Now most of them have been shut down / investigated, that hasnt happened here and surprise surprise, fight week and tickets are left
Yes because I'm sure if you was a promoter or fighter who could sell 50k plus ticket's you would say 'Na let's not do that, let's cut it in half'
Its big enough for Mayweathers biggest fights ....Ajs last few fight have been a snore fest...he will be back in arenas soon
Not sure I understand where you are coming from here. Mayweather fought in smaller arenas with far higher ticket prices. How does that correlate with AJ fighting in stadiums with much lower ticket prices?
Because they can does not mean they should take advantage of the uniformed public thinking they are going watch boxing and find 2 ants on a screen.
Hes saying an arena is good enough for Mayweather so why not AJ..... quite self explanatory Imagine Mayweather tickets being 30$ he would sell out stadiums too, but he doesnt and he fights in arenas Going to a stadium is surely a terrible experience vs an arena for all the points already mentioned
But there is no comparison unless you are suggesting ticket prices for an AJ fight can be priced higher than a stadium fight to make up for loss of ticket sales? The question isn't what's better between an arena and stadium. Nobody is debating that. Its simply a matter of supply and demand. If you have high demand for tickets you have to try and meet that demand. It's business 101. If Vegas had a 40k stadium are you telling me Floyd Mayweather would never of used it? He wouldn't be leaving money on the table.
Jurgen's hit the nail on the head. If you were gonna continually sell out 80,000 seats for a niche sport like Boxing in a relatively small country like the UK, then a large part of that would be down to returning customers. I've never been to a stadium fight but it doesn't take a genius to work out that it would be awful, and you would be better off watching on TV. There's only so many times they can go to the well.
Yeah youre right tbh Id be very interested to see the true number of tickets sold for this event, not given away or comped, id be stunned if its over 50k
