No. You can't undo decades of muscle memory and years of psychological damage in the time AJ has left before he steps back in with Usyk.
Will not make one bit of difference, just as we saw with Fury Wilder. The game plan will be in place for a couple of rounds, but once it isn't working he will just revert to type, and go into his shell again.
Even though I don’t think Joshua needed another trainer it’s nice to see Shields get the job, since he is an excellent trainer, but at the end of the day If Joshua doesn’t let his hands go nothing will change.
It's not sure if AJ will be with new trainer. He is just touching the ground. As far as can he improve - yes, cause he is very hard working, actually listen, willing to do what is needed to improve, and have a great team behind him. And AJ is not Wilder. Stop compare them. And should i remind to some posters on here what they were saying after Ruiz 1??? Exactly the same thing. He got no time, he got no stamina, he cant move around for 12 round, it wasnt a lucky punch KO, and all that nonsenses. And after the fight they gave AJ no credit at all and start making excsuses with Ruiz being out of shape. And im not saying that AJ will win the rematch, but he definitely can improve, but Usyk as well.
Wilder used a new combo jab to body jab to head follow by straight right to floor Fury, I have seen a vid on youtube showing Malik doing this combo with Wilder on the pads.
Can't improve his chin, stamina or feet in 5 months Gameplan and mentality is the only thing Might get him KO'd though. McCraken knows how weak AJ is, Ron does'nt
He needs hard sparring to fix his problems And less time in the UK to create a very uncomfortable (mentally) environment for himself. In the UK he has it too easy here in his Range Rover and crew of yes-men and hanging around with the boys.
Not really true. Ringcraft comes from lots and lots of experience in the ring, you can't teach that in a gym I'm afraid. You can put the building blocks in place yes, but it takes lots of experience and many years to learn ringcraft like fury and usyk have, and some fighters just simply don't have the brain for it, at all. That's what separates great fighters from the chaff
