Going to be an interesting press conference should Fury v Joshua end up in the same room - it will be like Chubby Brown teeing off on Cliff Richard
AJ was what he is always like. Trying to be Mr Humble and Mr Articulate. He is now entering full on God mode. 'I'm here for a reason' followed by saying he doesn't want to go too deep into it. He certainly had delusion of grandeur. I did laugh when Hearn was talking about people would avoid this fight and the second it was called they went for it. The first time it was called they shat it and fought Pulev instead.
Takam is hopeless and hasn't beaten anybody decent in his entire career. Pulev's best wins are Chisora, Skirt and Ustinov. Ruiz was like a beached whale in the rematch and hasn't beaten anybody aside from battering Joshua - not sure how that is a feather in his cap. Paint Dry Parker and Joshua stunk the joint out with the help of Matchroom referee - was knocked down by Chisora and Whyte, Joshua didn't even tickle him. Whyte was out of shape and injured after he had Joshua doing a funny dance - apparently British level boxer here on the forum. Povetkin - never a world champion, a good boxer but past his prime and was dropped by.... David Price in the bout prior. Klitschko was two years older than the one Fury comprehensively outboxed in Germany as a 10 year reigning champion, inactive, and Joshua still went life and death with him. Fury's record is hardly incredible, but he has three top level wins, all away from home, against long-reigning champions. Joshua's best win is literally Fury's sloppy seconds.
As far as press conference battles go think youd see a different Joshua in a fury build up, something along the lines of the jarrell miller conference, though its probably easy to leather miller the big turnip. Thing is theres enough to give fury **** abar if he really wanted too, just if hes quick of mind that way. All load of bull **** anyway innit, the fight that matters!
Takam was robbed a win against Perez. Perez was robbed a draw against Jennings. Ortiz whole reputation is built on that win against Jennings and beating Takam is more impressive. Also was giving Joyce a tough fight and in my opinion beating him untill the very premature stoppage. Pulevs career best win over chisora is better win than Wilder gas on his resume. Hughie would also beat anyone Wilder has beaten. Ruiz has best career win at present at HW. Whyte has since gone to have 5he most impressive resume in the divison this past 5 years after AJ. Povetkin - has one the best resumes in the divison and shown just how good was after the AJ fight by KOing Whyte. Wlad - fought AJ after Fury pulled out the rematch. Came in the best shape and lightest he had been in 7 years and AJ dis what Fury couldn't and stopped in in one best HW Championship fights ever. Also Wilder an Elite win???? If so then Pulev is an Elite win. All the above names with the exception of Takam would beat Wilder and have much more impressive resumes.
You were saying everyone in boxing thought Hunter beat Povetkin 2 hours ago now Povetkin was still great after the AJ loss (he wasn’t, drew with Hunter and got dropped by David Price).
Started watching the press conference then heard them talking about how Hearn had said Joshua had better feet than Usyk so turned it off.
Should replace Boxrec with Mitch’s scorecards. Everyone got robbed against everyone in order to create a decagon theory proving Wilder is crap.
Joyce had a tough fight against Takam until a very premature stoppage? Haha! Joyce went in there with zero defence, that's how tough it was. He laughed Tickling Takam off like he was a Labrador pup. Very premature stoppage? It wasn't premature, nevermind very premature. Takam was all over the shop and was about to take more clean punches to his 40 year old head. You're having a laugh. Your Ruiz logic is priceless. Here's another one @NEETzschean Klitschko was completely gassing after even five rounds. Joshua was only inches away from defeat, and he was lucky that Vitali gave Wladimir terrible advice. Saying that, he may have been unable to finish the job because of the gassing and telegraphed left hook leads that are still etched in my memory. Wladimir Klitschko never looked so old manish. If Wilder is so bad, then why didn't Joshua fight him? He was there for the undisputed title but priced himself out.
That was one the weirdest press conferences I've seen - The Sky pundits seemed to be making excuses for an AJ loss already like he's not the finished article (?), he has stamina issues etc. do they know something we don't ?? Just trying to sell the fight or is it an underhanded way to score some points over Eddie's golden boy who may be leaving Sky after this ? And yeah as others have said AJ usually talks a lot bland, meaningless piffle but today sounded like he was doing the same after downing a few shots of Smirnoff and some valium, seemed out of it and uninterested. Usyk was Usyk, can't speak much English so irrelevant really but on the surface he seemed calmer and more confident than AJ.
Why hasn't AJ hasn't fought him? MR have made numerous attempts each one over double his highest career purse at the time. Even sacked his long serving manager Lou Dibella for arranging the sit down and as Lou said Wilder, Winkel and Haymon had no interest in making a fight with AJ. Who has Wilder actually beaten to be regarded so highly? Ortiz whose only notable win has been against Jenning and has turned down offers to fight AJ, Whyte, Joyce and Wallin. Wilder couldn't even beat a remotely fit and past his prime post retirement Fury and as John Fury said any half decent HW would of beaten him that night of the first fight.
AJ seems a lot more relaxed immediately after - actually seems in a good place 'OF COURSE I THINK ABOUT FURY EVERYDAY, THAT NUT IS IN MY HEAD' - ANTHONY JOSHUA ADMITS / TALKS USYK - YouTube This content is protected
