A poster said AJ didn't have 5h3 best resume and cited the mention fighter playing down ability and and achievements. Whilst also stating "if Wilder is Poor how comes AJ hasn't fought him". I gave my two sincere on it.
Hogwash. Especially the highlighted part. I've got news for you, Joshua hasn't yet beaten a post retirement Fury, either, and managed to get clobbered by someone far worse in the slob that is Rice Pudding Tattoo'd Disaster Ruiz Jr who was just put down by a .... post retirement no hoper in Chris Arreola.
Just watched it, Joshua looks tired to me. The shadow boxing was also a bit strange, could be an act, who knows. Saying that, Usyk is always going to come across better as he is always himself, where as Joshua isn't allowed to be.
Joshua is a guy who says in 100 words what a normal person would say in 10. I'd not really noticed him doing it before but his interviews this time round have been really off. He strikes me as somebody who is massively insecure and introverted which is weird considering who he is and what he's achieved.
Yeah I agree, he looked tired. Who knows, he has just signed a deal with Eddie, maybe he has had all that going on in the background and maybe dealings with DAZN and Sky as this is his last fight on his current deal with Sky. So it might just be things happening behind the scenes.. things he has to be aware of and agree to, so he has to be involved. Personally though, I think he looked to lack that twinkle in his eyes, he looked flat and a little edgy, again it could just be fight week nerves but something looked off to me. Or, I don't want to upset anybody or create some sort of mad conspiracy but there are a lot of people around, maybe early signs of Covid, a cold, an illness? Know what I mean? People have been getting little colds after being masked up and sanitised for nearly two years, your immune system sort of resets, I believe it's called "immune system debt" So maybe he has a little bug, a little virus and looked a bit crappy. Most fighters normally have little colds, bugs and whatever before fights, the training, the stress can run you down a bit, normally more common with lower weights and the cut to make weight. Anyway we will see.
You're looking too much into it. He's the same as normal. He just hasn't had a haircut, "beard" trim/shave and been out in a sunny climate leading up to this. He looked the same as this prior to the Povetkin bout and similar in the Rice Pudding rematch. He looks fine, he was just talking a load of nonsense as usual.
I want Usyk to win so I’m trying to be rational about it.. and trying not to see things I want to see.. but Joshua was weird. Usyk 100% confident. Saturday will be interesting.
At one point i thought he was handed the wrong script, sounded like he was reading his own obituary!!
Just watched it on YouTube. Very weird presser. A DAZN official there when the fights not even on in the UK, then throws to Adam Smith who just talks about how long Sky have been in boxing followed by AJ talking about absolutely nothing for 15 minutes.
Only just seen another interview at the presser with AJ saying he could be back at York Hall after Saturday and it's a 50/50 fight. Humble but he doesn't exactly seem beaming with confidence.
Good to see Bronson finally got released But in all seriousness, you can't help but like Usyk. Funny bloke but a serious fighter however I stand by that I really have not been overly impressed with him since moving up to HW and my money is siding with AJ tomorrow night. As expected he is much the smaller man and even whilst wearing a suit, you can see the big size difference between the two.
