His ring IQ and adaptability does seem more limited than Fury's. He can make minor adaptations such as being less aggressive or being more aggressive depending on how the fight is going, but more nuanced adaptations I have yet to notice from him.

He did learn after the right hand that Wlad hit him with at the start of the 4th round that his attempts to parry Wlad's jab wouldn't work anymore when Wlad pulled his left hand down when he attempted to parry a Wlad jab and Wlad came over the top with a crunching right hand but he never was able to come up with a plan B to take away Wlad's jab like he did in the first 3 rounds.

Quite a few people I know, who are far more knowledgeable about boxing than me (yeah I know, that isn't saying much) are convinced Pulev causes AJ a few problems.

They are not saying he wins but they all said his jab will cause AJ issues early and Pulevs jab is being seriously overlooked in this one.

We shall see.. I think AJ runs through him.

I've read a few of your posts giving really good analysis on this fight but I'm not sure if I've seen you make a prediction? (you probably have but i've likely missed it) - do you have a pick?

I've always favoured Fury in this match up, his movement will give Joshua problems and Joshua being a natural counter puncher himself will find it hard to press the whole time, especially as his work rate is so low.

But I wouldn't rule out a Joshua win, him being the underdog should bring out the best of him and his ability to turn fights around when he's struggling could see him upset Fury.

But styles makes fights and style wise I give Fury the edge, he wins a competitive UD.

Agreed. Admittedly, my boxing knowledge is quite poor these days (I drifted away a little as life took over) but this is one of the few big fights for me where both head and heart say Fury. I don't think it will be easy for either man, and I wouldn't be shocked by any kind of outcome, but I think I'm fairly set on who I think will win it.

Same thing happened to me last year, I didn't watch a fight for about 9 months, wasn't until Covid and lockdown I found the time again to get back into boxing.

Just as surely as Joshua was right to avoid getting into a slugfest in Ruiz II, he needs to do his damnedest to get into one against Fury, use his strength & power. Any attempt at getting into anything technical & complicated with Fury is IMO likely doomed to failure.

Could be a snoozy jab fest but Fury is a wild card. Last fight against Wilder he was putting power behind his shots. He’s a multi dimensional fighter and has shown he will throw the big shots when necessary. AJ is more limited. He’s going to have to beat Fury in a true boxing match. Not sure he has the skill to do it. Fury isn’t limited and small like Fat Andy. Fury has more to his arsenal than old Wlad. I’m excited for this fight if it ever happens. If these guys somehow do not fight, I’ll be pissed.

Luckily for him no one in the heavyweight division has a good counter right hand

Show me AJ throwing 3 jabs in a row whilst moving off laterally

    You can't

Show me AJ throwing his jab from the waist
Show me AJ flicking his jab
Show me AJ stiff-arming his jab
Show me AJ throwing a lead hand feint then a jab
    Show me AJ shifting hitting

He is a big stuff idiot compared to Fury. Basic as they come.

Wilder knows how to use his height, he keeps a fairly good distance away from his opponent, Not a slouch in this department. Fury was drawing double jabs off Wilder then countering with a left hook then closing the distance shifting southpaw and dropping him with a bodyshot. all in the space of a less than a second.

AJ hasn't got the skill, ability or brains to do anything on that level.

He is a basic stiff, high guard, stands in front of you, chin in the air dosser.

You saw AJ trying to fight laterally off the jab against the little fat man. He looked uncomfortable as hell. He is useless.

    Lol embarrasing.

Furys jab is different from wlads and better in this scenario. Aj knows fury has all the advantages boxing on the outside I'd be pointless to play fury at his own game.

i guarantee we're going to see the agressive side of Aj in this fight. He's already claimed if he fought fury he'd try to pin him down, go to work and knock him out.

Then again fury isnt a power puncher so he might box him very early in the fight. Just dont see it happening

AJ has a good counter right hand and just a good right hand period.

No way could Wildder have out-boxed Ruiz.
