Me too. I picked up the 25/1 there, Zhang 1-6 and recommended my friends and family did the same, which a few did. Only put down a fiver though. The Joyce hype was unreal.
I didn’t realise that many went over, it looked a cracking atmosphere. I remember he couldn’t get past the jab and lost it down the stretch.
Haye tried the same stinking Valuev tactics and was never in the fight from the first bell. Klitschko too big for him but he never had a go at any point in the fight even though he promised the KO. That is what hacked people off. The ring entrances were incredible with fireworks flying off the roof of the stadium etc. Toe Haye had 2 ring entrances as he failed to appear after the full song 'Ain't Toe Stopping Us Now' was played without him appearing. Great to be there and the weigh-in at the Karstadt Sports Shop the day before was great as well. Had a chat with Jim Watt and Johnny Nelson outside that day with Jim diplomatically stating that Haye had a 'stiff task' basically telling me that he had no chance. Good to see Big Lennox Lewis that day as well.
I haven't been on here enough recently to know if the Scooby Doo/The Secret Footballer reveal has already been done but I'm glad you're still on here, Jurgen
I remember being properly up for that event - my son was 3 at the time and packed off to bed so I could get a few cans in and get the PPV on. I was a Haye fan and thought he had a decent chance at the time. Boxing nights don't generate the same level of excitement these days in my opinion.
I also won money on that fight. As well as backing Zhang to knockdown Hrgovic in the first round at 40/1 if I remember correctly. I will be backing him to KO Wilder if they fight on Joshua card but I don't think Wilder will take the fight
I could see Wilder taking it. Why not? He'd get 10 million or whatever. He's coming off a loss to Parker and could lose to almost anyone at this point. May as well have another Saudi cash out against Zhang. I think 40+ Zhang's biggest problem would be trying to catch him. Wilder is probably at least 70 lbs lighter, I heard he was putting weights in his pockets for Parker and he'd be coming to survive like last time.
Steady on big spender. Tyson Fury will be happy though as that’s another £125 worth of Furocity flying off the shelf in the local Asda.
Went to Hamburg for the week and a great place to visit. The locals were really up for the fight as well in fight week and when I asked how much they pay to watch it on Box Office in Germany, they just laughed and told us the fight was live on German Terrestrial TV!!! The week was great with the only letdown being conned by Toe Haye as his only goal in the fight was to do a Joey 12, lose every round and run off with all the British PPV loot. The undercard was garbage but still see that thudding punch from Afolabi that decked Terry Dunstan.
