Why didn't they complain this hard when we had to pay £20 for Chisora vs Usyk and that awful undercard? I even submitted a thread complaining, and there were people DEFENDING the price? Of that shower of **** fight and undercard. If people seriously think that fight was worth £20, then how is AJ or Fury fighting not worth more than that? Do we seriously believe seeing a Chisora/Usyk fight is worth the same amount of money as an AJ fight with a decent undercard? AND also it's for a title(s) If we want to see AJ's fights for £20, we need to complain about the lesser fights being £20.00 also. Usyk v Chisora - Should have been £14.95 at the most. Povetkin/Whyte should have been maybe 17.95. Only when there's a title on the line should it be £20.00.
Why should Whyte-Povetkin have been worth more? Chisora has shown there's little separating him and Whyte in terms of ability, and Usyk is a top P4P fighter. Clearly better than an ancient Povetkin. Neither should have been PPV, but if one should have cost more, it's Usyk-Chisora.
Because Whyte and Povetkin are two proven top 10 quality fighters fighting for a mandatory shot for a title. They are similar in terms of quality. Usyk and Chisora are not similar in terms of quality. Their fight was just Usyk trying to stay active before his title shot. People go on and on about Povetkin's age, who cares how old he is? He's still good enough to give a good fight every single time he fights. He gave AJ a good fight, drew against hunter and beat Whyte. AND the Povetkin/Whyte undercard was actually good. The Chisora v Usyk undercard was sh*t. So you've got Povetkin and Whyte, two top 10 heavyweights with a good undercard... ...against Usyk v Chisora which was nearly retired Chisora being outclassed for his 10th defeat, against a fighter looking for a tune-up fight, and one of the worst undercards ever.
Is this a troll thread? For one, as a fight, Chisora vs Usyk is a much much higher calibre than AJ vs Pulev. For another, the UK has traditionally only had one PPV price, this two tiered system AJ has employed is an absolute joke.
At least it has a decent undercard, that is usually what determines my ppv purchase (though I'm in the US so its dazn for me). I wouldn't have bought the Usyk match chiefly because the undercard was garbage
PPV is just a scam in the UK.....pure greed by fighters wanting bigger pay days and promoters getting a big fat wedge of pie. Never paid for a PPV and never will. The broadcasters have got folk believing these fights are worth paying the extra for....and thats over and above the extortionate monthly subscription fee that they command
Both are outrageous. Paying 20 Bri'ish coins for Usyk vs Chizzo was bull, but 25 for a Joshua fight (even against a #1 contender) is just as bad. But of course there will be enough people paying up, so next fight will be 30. Or 35 to 40 if it's Fury next.
I thought this PPV price was a one-time only thing for Ruiz-AJ II and never again. Huh. Did Eddie Hearn...lie to everyone?
Supply and Demand. This is the most corrupt sport in the world. I don't understand why there is so much outcry and sarcasm, particularly, on a boxing forum. As a boxing fan I got nothing better to do than spend £25 on a decent nights boxing, but they don't need to sell it to me. Rob Tebbutt of Boxing Social did a great interview today with Adam Smith. Asked some very direct questions and didn't stop. Much respect.
