There are rumours from inside Sky (possibly leaked to see reaction) that Fast Eddie and Sky are going to use AJ V WLAD to hike up the Sky Box Office from £16.95 to £19.95 as they want to get up to the HBO/SHO $50-100 mark. Eddie already says he reckons it will do £1m buys (Hatton v Mayweather was record with £1.2m buys at £14.95) Extra £3 would be £3m extra for Hearn if you believe his £1m estimate. I think it's optimistic as the build up is dull as ****, Haye v Fury or Haye v Joshua would do more buys I think. Do you think this is the perfect opportunity for boxing fans to be royally screwed as usual?? "It's about getting 3 more houses on the hill" Barry Hearn to Katie Taylor
I think this will be priced up the same as Pac v Money - these grubs cannot screw enough money out of the mug boxing fans. Quite simple really - don't buy and watch in a bar. Until boxing fans and the mug PPV buyers take a stand, Hearn, Joshua, Sky etc will continue to fleece people.
If the agreeable number of people parted with £17 quid to watch Joshua bash an undersized, feather fisted, chinny unknown like Eric Molina, then pay £20 to watch him fight a man who might throw a punch back, (41 and without a win in 2 years as it may.) You reap what you sew to use a mindless but accurate catch phrase.
No they won't. This is just utter bs. Hearn has stated he hates the american ppv platform. It will be 16.95 like usual.
Wladimir Klitschko might be a tired old man who has been boring boxing fans for well over a decade but surely it is worth a few quid more than AJ v Whyte, AJ v Martin, AJ v Breazeale or AJ v Molina. If people paid 16.95 for those fights, they ought to pay 3 quid more for AJ v Wlad.
Depends on the undercard to be honest for me whether I buy it or not, i can't watch any wlad fights, they are so dull, no matter who he faces. I also prefer the indoor arenas far better for atmosphere, comes across better on television aswell the indoor arenas. I think the price is about right, anymore I rather just watch it in the pub
I know it's so incredibly disrespectful to customers that Sky Box Office charge £17 then put ads between rounds. Don't they ****ing understand corner work is part of the fight??? Why the hell don't Sky cut to a 30 second Nissan ad during a Man U substitution? Barney Francis is supposed to like boxing apparently...
Yes but the point is the next AJ fight v Ortiz or whatever will be £20 too. They want to hike up price to keep it there like when they went from £14.95 to £16.95...
