How would you see that fight? Corrie Sanders (1966-2012), who was able at the age of 37 and 102 kg (225 lb) to destroy Wladimir in 2003, and at the age of 38 and 106 kg (235 lb) gave Vitali all he can handle. Sanders was already older when he fought the Klit brothers, but he was incredible dangerous in the first 2-3 rounds for anyone. Imo he had all chances to beat AJ in the first 2-3 rounds via KO, if it goes longer than 5-6 rounds AJ takes it via late stoppage or points.
mm which one? prime sanders who got destoryed by prime rahman, I would say AJ kos him mid to late rounds. or do you mean the old shot retired on who easily koed prime wlad in seconds, and remains prime vitalis best win? I think AJ would stop him even earlier, as would most champs. The question really is why on earth would they give such a retiree a shot at the title.
I do not like Joshua's hand placement and defense for the straight left Sanders threw. Whatsover. And he would be right in front of Corrie as well. Would like the AJ chances much better with better mobility/ability to turn Sanders. But I sure do not see it.
Joshua has tools that Rahman doesn't and vice versa. What I do not fancy in AJ's chances against Sanders is how he handles southpaws and how his reacts to getting hit on this suspect chin of his. Give Usyk Corrie's punching power and he stops Joshua in 5.
Hasim Raham was barely Frank Bruno level. AJ was better than Rock in skill , speed , combos , footwork and defence. Yes Usyk with Sanders power would certainly stop AJ , but that man doesn't exist. Neither does a Sanders with the angles and upperbody movement of Usyk. Sanders had no defence on the front foot whatsoever and came forward with his chin in the air. If he catches a few shots from AJ its over for him.
