You can tell in pressers lately Warren is trying to get a little more out of him. As you say, very dry humour.
Nasty AJ came out from the most mild, quiet comment from Dubois. I think that’ll be Frank’s strategy; get DD to say a few things but otherwise play up the humble side, where we all know AJ has a mask that slips pretty easily. No doubt Matchroom PR will be running AJ legacy stuff, giving to charity, supporting amateurs etc etc but it won’t stop him sounding like an arse.
Spot on mate, I couldn't have put it better myself, exactly how I see it, I am liking what I am seeing from ddd lately and would not rule him sparking AJ out.
Personally, with the way DD was stupidly eating those rights off Hrgovic, I can only see this fight ending the same way the Ngannou fight did with DD on his backside seeing stars. R6 and it'll be more or less over imo.
Agreed and I would love to see AJ humbled, genuinely the most hyped boxer we have produced in last 20 years. Matchroom and sky sports did an amazing job with him. Totally unlikeable
I did read the thread, and the majority are backing AJ which is fine, I just stated that Dubois has a huge chance in this one and is also a big hitter himself. 20 KOs in 21 victories backs that up. An AJ uppercut may well end this contest, but I can also see Dubois getting through and forcing a stoppage himself. Either way, I'd be shocked if it went 12. Apart from Klitschko, this is the hardest hitter AJ has faced.
I would like DD to pull it off too in the sense that we may actually see some younger talent come through and maybe have the start of a new generation. I'm kind of over seeing AJ, Wilder, Fury, Chisora, Parker (would add Whyte, but he's failed about 12 drugs tests) etc. They've had their time, been shown up by Usyk, refused to fight each ther when they should have years ago, held the division hostage, now their fights hold little value. More Dubois, Kabayel, Torrez, Jalolov, Anderson, Huni, Hovhannisyan and even guys like Ajagba and Bakole who have bounced back well after losses earlier in their careers would be nice going forward.
Forgot about Povetkin, and yeah, he hit hard for a HW midget, and was about 98 years old when he fought AJ.
Was about 19,000 in the queue, got through and plenty of tickets left. Decided against it based on the prices though. Crazy. Especially when you can see **** all on the top tier. Granted I’ve got **** eyesight but struggled even to see the big screens when up there for Fury Whyte.
