I feel like this will be similar to Lennox Lewis vs Shannon Briggs. I think Dubois will make AJ uncomfortable initially but eventually AJ will time his shots.
Can't speak for everyone else but while AJ is the favourite you can't write Dubios off. I expect AJ will win but will be backing Dubios for mid-late KO.
It’s silly to read into a sparring “story”. I’m not doubting it happened but who knows of the circumstances around the sparring. It could have been in the end of a hard week of training and AJ could have already sparred multiple rounds and DD comes in fresh guns blazing. When I was training for my pro debut I sparred with a former champ that had a fight coming up. He completely underestimated me and was messing around, dropping his hands and played around, it pissed me off so I waited for him to drop his hands again and when he did I doubled up on a lefthook as hard as I could and dropped him. I was happy that a finally caught him and dropped him but I wasn’t delusional enough to think I would beat him in a real fight. We actually became friends and sparred many rounds after that but he never underestimated me again. Sparring is sparring!
No, stop with the sweeping statements. I'm just being honest and totally 100% unconvinced 'who's' going to win. if Dubois catches AJ clean it can be over, and vice versa. I've stated I've initially given AJ the edge here. That doesn't mean he's going to definitely win, does it? As you personally are so convinced, and that's good. I hope you're gonna put some coin on the outcome. And be present in the RBR for a 'well done'
That's also my take on the fight. Think AJ will win but won't be surprised if Dubois catches him. Think the fight will be over either way in rounds 6-8
I don't bet anymore the only winner is the house "oh it can go this way but also it could go this way" boring, indecisiveness you should sit on the panel with Johnny nelson.
Sparring is Sparring! My own cat has got the better of me in sparring, even though we are completely different weight classes. But if it was a pro bout and the IBF belt was on the line, my cat wouldn't see round 2.
It is indecisiveness on my part, but for the simple fact that there's no clear winner for me. Just to be clear, I don't give a flying one if I do make a prediction and I'm wrong. I've done that plenty of times. If I were to make a choice in this instance, it would be, just for making a choice's, sake. That's pointless. I'm not rooting for either fighter so I've not even got any personal bias. The prediction I will make however, is that this fight will not go the distance.
