AJ vs Fury is purported to be signed now. 50-50 split for the first fight. 60-40 for the second. No venue set yet. Fight to be held in July. Seems like a fair deal to both. Great for the fans!
AJ clearly is the bigger draw, but why not? It´s like Canelo vs Golovkin. On his own, Canelo could do around 300k+ PPV against a lesser name. Golovkin did around 200k with Jacobs(Jacobs wasn´t a draw back then, just look at his Tv ratings.) But together they did massive numbers. It´s guaranteed to be massive and just going with the 50/50 split means that they can get it done.
He doesn't But they arn't risking him against a no name no sell Usyk or any other dosser like Ruiz Jr when they have a rare opportunity at undisputed for $200m+ The loss is worth it & that applies FOR BOTH MEN. Eddie Hearn probably didn't sleep for months after Ruiz scalped AJ, almost threw away 1/4 billion dollars. LOL. Now it's down to AJ to make the fight atleast competative, if he lets Fury school him then the rematch will be not so hot. Wilder at least made the Fury rematch highly anticipated.
Free ride is over for the Gypsy King!! Soon he'll have all the time in the world to eat hot dogs at the beach with his kids and drink beer in the park... The grim reaper is coming for him in the form of Anthony Joshua!!! The end will come swiftly, brutally, and without resistance. Even Fury knows what's coming...he can't seal up those cracks Wilder left on his mandible, and now he's gotta go out there and field uppercuts from one of the fiercest uppercutters in the history of the division. In a way I almost feel bad for Fury, no one deserves the fate that awaits him...but in the end he brought all of this on himself.
Apparently the contract is only for the next 30 days, they have to finalize date and venue in the next 30 days. June 26th and July 3rd are being mentioned as date. I suspect it's going to be Saudi Arabia.
