Do you think it ever happens? If so, who wins? I'm close to 50/50 about Fury ever getting in shape again, but I think if he does, he'd beat AJ. Would probably be a tougher match than he had against Wlad, and he might have to get off the canvass to do it, but I think he has too much length, speed, smarts, and awkwardness for AJ.
imo Tyson will never regain the form or fitness needed to beat AJ now. Not anywhere near professional enough to compete with him. He will comeback for a payday though if he gets cleared
I'd favor Fury and with a good boxing strategy and the help of Peter Fury i think he could win though Joshua is on the up whereas he's still in an unstable position currently. I could imagine Fury smothering and hitting Joshua in the clinch, using his footwork and switch hitting Joshua to a UD. I think an impartial referee and judges need to be in place. It's more 50/50 then Fury wants to make out even if you discount his current situation. I think Joshua's power and aggression may see Fury go down and down again as Joshua may not respect his power. I think Fury hits harder than people seem to make out though at heavy.
I would Favor the 2015 Fury to outbox him. However, Tyson has been training for a few months and he's still 80-90 pounds over weight. Let's face it folks, he will never be the same. AJ will blow him away if he gets in the ring with him. Long lay offs and this type of physical abuse to your body can not be undone.
I have to say I think Fury can beat him if he is motivated. He is more economical and smarter fighter if he is in shape and motivated. I just don't think Fury will defend his title if he wins it again.
If was the version of Fury that beat Wlad, I'd favor Fury easily. There's just a very low chance we'll ever see that Fury again.
Joshua by brutal KO. Fury is a flash in the pan champion. He's been down and hurt by lesser fighters. Wlad fought like a coward that night, should have never lost in the first place.
I think the Fury that beat Wlad would out box current Joshua. It would be far tougher than the Wlad fight as unlike Wlad Joshua is more aggressive and a natural counter puncher so he'll be able to pull the trigger more than Wlad was able to. But I've always said Joshua's biggest weakness maybe his movement. I think an agile, moving target like Fury will give him serious problems. That along with his stamina which sees him gas when he's forced to raise his work rate, I doubt he can finish Fury even if he hurts him. But Joshua is still improving a year or 2 from now it's harder to say as we don't know what improvements Joshua will make during this time. I also have serious doubts about Fury ever being fit enough again to fight again. Even if he does return I don't think he'll be the same fighter.
Fury is done stick a fork in him...just watch all that fat ooze out. AJ by brutal UP when it happens. Fury will still be obese plus over 2yrs of rust on top. All Fury is coming back for is a cheeseburger pension fund.
Horrible style matchup for Tyson Fury, i would favor Anthony Joshua by KO. Tyson Fury never fought a big and heavy handed counterpuncher, he got dropped by Steve Cunningham with one punch, if AJ would be able to put pressure on him which is very likely, Tyson Fury would be in big trouble. I can't see Tyson Fury trading punches with Anthony Joshua, he could win a close decision if he would be in the shape of his life but it's much more likely that he would get caught by AJ and knocked out, he has not enough punching power to keep AJ at the distance for 12 rounds. Fury has good movement for a big guy but he is also a big target due to his size.
Would be tougher than most casuals think but I'd say Joshua eventually stops Fury. Fury doesn't have the power to keep Joshua off him so eventually Joshua would land big.
