AJ vs Joyce sparring footage

Fair to say it didn't tell us very much. Good seeing sparring though, gives an insight into training/preparation.

 

Joyce looks like a sloth in this, looks more like a training exercise for AJs head movement than a full on spar. Who put this out there?

 

Joshua and his crew, clearly.

 

I take absolutely nothing from it, never have and never will. You spar to try out some of the new things that you've learned or have been working on. So naturally it might not always come to fruition in sparring, which might make a fighter look worse than he really is.

 

Can't really take anything from this they're clearly just having a move around

 

Joyce is tailor made for Joshua. Upright come forward style with no head movement. Way too easy to hit. It's alright taking far too many punches against the likes of Takam but he'll come unstuck against the top guys.

 

A few slow motion Joyce jabs in the face of Joshua and he won't want to know - he crumbles when hit with mediocre power punches.

 

Have to agree Jurgen, if Joyce went in for the kill after a few jabs to Joshua's bonce it would likely be game over for Joshua. They're both plodders to an extent, but one of them has heart.

Agree with everyone else that the video doesn't tell us much about nothing too.

 

Joyce looks like target practice there.

On paper it seems Joyce is a nightmare for AJ, which he is. But he's making AJ look slick here. Joyce has a great chin, but AJ can crack it if he let's them fly.

 

Yeah Joyce eats alot of punches but he won't be an easy night's for Joshua and I think it could get interesting in the championship rounds.

It's either a wide UD or a late Joyce KO imo

 

I remember sparring a middleweight as a lightweight (middleweight ended up being selected for army boxing team and sparred Cuban Olympian’s). I dropped him with a big shot one day.

he got up and leathered me for three rounds until my coach stopped it. Point I’m making is edited footage will likely suit the editor!!

no different to my my missus being on the phone to her mum after we argue, im never gonna come out looking good!!

 

I think it’s a quite routine wide points win for AJ personally. Too quick and mobile and won’t take any risks.

Any fight with Joyce always has potential to be fun though. Joyce is painfully slow but does have an engine and a chin and sticks to his game plan without panicking.

 

I also think Joyce is tailormade for the Juicy one.
Especially if AJ gets vicious

Would be super fun if Joyce could handle the power though. I just think he's too easy to hit and AJ hits too hard.

AJ trying to out point Joyce could get tired and overwhelmed I suppose.

75-25 in favour of AJ

 

Joyce is slow but he has 3 attributes that no trainer in the world can give you chin, heart and endurance and strangely enough that’s the 3 attributes that AJ lacks. If AJ doesn’t get Joyce out of there in first 6 rounds Joyce would grind him down but I doubt we would ever know this fight isn’t happening unless it was a mandatory and AJ is not a champion.
