This fight totally grabbed the public imagination. I was at a show at Villa Park that a mate of mine was on. Little Don Broadhurst was top of the bill and the AJ v Klitschko fight was on the TV's in the bar area.
The timings got messed up due to the diners in VIP so Broadhurst, who is that local he could walk to the venue in 10 minutes, boxed in front of an empty hall. The bar was heaving and going bananas watching the Heavyweights.
Poor Broadhurst. God knows what John Pegg was thinking booking a show that night but we had a fabulous evening.

Seen through him a long time before the fat pudding took him out - it is a CV littered with puddings pre and post the old robot.

I watch every show mate - never missed any card that I wanted to watch and Pay per View makes no difference to my viewing or wallet.

Wlad did try going for Joshua after the KO. But the bodybuilder was pretty much in survival mode before the late 11 round assault. It took him 6 rounds to get a second wind. He wasn't as badly hurt as the Ruiz fight he was still sticking his tongue at Wlad and goading him.

Sometimes forget about this fight, was a great win for AJ. Yes, Wlad was past prime but not so far that it wasn’t still a very good win. The second best win of any active heavyweight, only Fury beating Wlad ranks higher for me, although I know which fight I’d rather watch back. Fury destroying Wilder a close 3rd because of the utterly dominant nature of the win.

The most entertaining HW title fight in decades between the two best at the time.

Wlad fought amazingly. No boring attempts at jab and grab and certainly not scared like against Fury. Light on his feet boxing and just going for it in a way we hadn’t seen in years. All against the biggest name and so called best out there and at 41 after 18 months out. I was sick to death of Klitschko’s reign of easily beating midgets with safety first. After the Joshua fight I love him. It helps that I’d never liked Joshua, but I was the only one in the pub going mad for Wlad. I still remember all the weird looks I was getting haha.

Yeah, I wouldn't go as far as to say I wanted Wlad to win but I was pleased for him that he went out (just about literally) swinging.

He's also been an absolute class act after the event. Just seems a genuinely decent bloke.

Remember wlad throwing loads of.hooks at Joshua when he wasn't throwing anything back and looked done, the hooks just weren't landing and remember thinking why doesn't he throw the right hand. Weird.

You could tell though McCracken and AJ had worked on dodging Wlad's left hook. He didn't just miss, a lot of the time AJ missed by ducking under it.
