Ali, without question. Just look at the Usyk I fight and imagine it being a bit worse for AJ. He could have even stopped him.

Ali may not have the southpaw advantage but he is even quicker than Usyk. Considerably quicker. Play a side by side fight of the 1967 Ali and compare it to 2021-22 Usyk and you can see a notable speed advantage for Ali.

Joshua does not have the work rate or the speed (despite being a quick big man) to keep up with Ali. Oh and Ali took body shots better than any heavyweight in history. Foreman pounded Ali's body viciously for 6 rounds and Ali refused to drop his hands. Body shots won't do much unless you have the 15 round work rate of a Frazier which Joshua doesn't.

Ali is too quick. Unlike Usyk, Ali will not hesitate to throw 4-6 punch combinations from round 1. Joshua can't handle a fast combination puncher who's footspeed is way quicker than anything he has ever been with. Joshua might land the occasional left hook or right hand jolt that staggers Ali but it won't be enough.

    Ali tko 10.

People who know nothing about boxing will cling to the fact that AJ is much taller and heavier and hits too hard but unless you land power doesn't mean much as seen when he hit air against Usyk

Now instead of Usyk you have Ali a faster more vicious combination puncher, the result would be a beat down similar to the Terrell fight

Verdict - TKO win to Ali round 10

Post fight - AJ has another meltdown and Eddie shits his pants

Agree. 60's Ali was quicker than prime Usyk, I admit it as a fan of Usyk. I've watched Ali vs Doug Jones, then Usyk against Huck and Gassiev. Ali was noticeably quicker

You could dig up Ali now and I would still favour him

Like seriously, this SHW nonsense needs to stop. Andy ruiz with a lean body fat index would be lucky to weigh over 200 and look what he did to Aj

Ali in his prime was still a big dude who was super fast, agile, could punch a bit and most importantly if needs be, He could also fight. He also had supreme conditioning

He would slap the head off Aj and force a stoppage in the late rounds or win wide on the cards

They could fight 100 times. And Ali would win 100 times.

    That we can agree on
Only usyk might beat Ali from this era, but I'm not convinced

    Worthy debate though

Ali would win the fight before even getting in the ring his antics outside the ring would get inside Joshua's head he's not strong enough mentality to overcome Ali.

Ali would not only win he would mentally destroy Joshua. I think we'd see AJ cry.

I would not expect Anthony Joshua to do any better than Brian London did.
That's no knock against AJ, or Brian London.
Muhammad Ali was simply levels and levels above.

Ali 12-0 or KO if he feels like it.

From this current era I would only give Fury and Usyk a chance.
