Five posts in one thread from @Puroresu_Fan (aka Bellew’s alt) in a thread about Joshua and numbers. Sounds about right.

Not sure if wishful. 90k is still a mad number and it's not guaranteed they sell every single one but as has been said even if they sold 80k they are laughing

I would hope my social skills are at least slightly better than Fish Junior’s.

80,000 tickets is impressive again, if true.

The sky hype Machine will soon kick in and I'd put good money on an in depth IFL interview with Eddie and Koogs. That will probably shift the majority of tickets left

AJ fights are events. Tickets will keep selling as more and more casuals want to go just for the event experience and that lots of people are going, not really about the boxing

When Froch fought Groves there it was incredibly rare special, 80,000 at a boxing match was pretty much unheard of, certainly for many years.

Joshua then fought for the Heavyweight title against the guy who had dominated for over a decade (before losing to Fury obvs). It was still the biggest fight in world boxing at the time.

Now he's fighting some stedhead midget who was wobbled by the plumber, it's a bit of a comedown in all honesty. 60,000 would still be a success but i don't think that many will sell, there are still tickets available in every section of the ground, as well as the resale tickets.

Just a reminder in 2016 fury couldn't fill the Manchester arena for a rematch with Wlad.

The numbers are astonishing even if it was to be only 35000k its not normal for boxing!

Yes there's not really an angle to this fight that would help them sell it. Povetkin is an extremely good fighter but he's largely unknown in the UK. It's not as if he's fighting a unification which at least added some appeal to the Parker clash.

There is no way this fight has sold 80k. Edday padding the numbers. At best its sold 20k.

I wonder how many of the “sold” tickets are actually with touts trying to flog them?

Hearn/AJ booking Wembley out for 2 dates in advanced was quite uninspiring, especially after the mega boring Parker fight.

These stadium fights are being rinsed out now and even the casuals are starting to scratch thier heads.
If there not going to consider Wilder it would be much more interesting if AJ fights Miller in New York in April to break things up abit. Then come back here late summer to fight Whyte or whoever.

If anything this should teach you "hardcores" a thing of two about complaining about event fights and banging on that p4p talent from Eastern euros need to be headlining our shows.

Povetkin is the #3 heavyweight and probably joshes 2nd best opponent and the casuals couldn't give a ****.

Honestly if joshua was fighting chisora and you had chisora throw a bottle at him or something it would have sold out in about 5 minutes.

Casuals are more interested in theatrics than talent, and they are who generates the $$$
