At this moment Povetkin comes in at 6/1 to win outright. I guess you’d get better odds for a 1st Round KO or something to that effect.

Love the fight! But I'm worried the ref will be paid off before the fight to protect Joshua. That Parker fight was shady with the ref splitting them up everytime Parker was going in to attack Joshua.

Honestly book it now. Joshua will bully him and beat him up. Wilder will become gunshy.

Wilder lacks ability. They,ve done a good job with him technically in recent years. But its the same formula he follows. It,ll be exposed against a bigger/stronger guy in Joshua. The formula is this. Fight opponents with shorter reaches. They,ve worked that right hand reflexively well. He just sits back waiting on the shorter reached guy coming in. His problems will be exposed when he goes up against a good guy that doesn't need to come into him. Ortiz is light years above wilder in terms of skill but he had to move into wilder. Because wilders right hand is razor sharp he,ll make the smaller reached fighters or the slow coming in shorter reached fighters anyway pay for it. I still say wilder fights scared. Its not patience. We,ll hopefully find out anyway...I,d bet money on him fighting scared against aj to the point his output goes downhill fast. Someone will knock Joshua out eventually on paper wilders your man. In reality...he,ll run and hide more so than some of them against Joshua. I think he,ll get gunshy. Parker will beat wilder as well. Smaller reached but moves in/closes the gap quick enough. Bigger guys that don't need to move in on wilder or guys that can close the gap at speed will beat him. No problem at all. The only good guy he's foughts been Ortiz. Ortiz is class. But he was very much a handpicked opponent. They had to pick someone good. Ortiz was good. But he also had the attributes that suited wilder to a t. Slow closing the gap. Shorter reached.

Dillon whyte seems to have been sidestepped. Dillons decent at closing the gap. He done it well against aj. He,d have given wilder a lot of problems. Look at stiverne, Washington etc...all slow. Wilder ever fought an opponent that was fast on their feet.

He did get caught but given all of Price's failings having a massive right hand isn't one of then and I'd imagine its better than AJ's best and Povetkin took that right hand, didn't go down and shrugged it off...

Not many can do that with Price.

Povetkin being short is going to have the same problems Parker did if AJ (rightly) plays the same game..

Povetkin's last outing against an elite heavyweight made him look a bit like a small boy being bullied by a big man...

AJ wide UD (unless he get sloppy but it will be up to AJ).

If the Wilder fight wasn't an option then this is a great fight, as far as the heavyweight division is concerned. Yeah Povetkin is old and off the juice, but he still beats the majority of HWs out there.

I don't mind the temporary delay in the big fight, I just hope it doesn't become a Pacquiao Mayweather saga. Although given the age of AJ and Wilder they would have to drag things out for another 10 years before it becomes completely irrelevant. Demand is too great, can't see that happening.

For what it's worth my pick is that AJ stops Povetkin late. Accumulation of punishment on an old man.

Agree with this. Povetkin will have to work too hard to be effective in this fight. Harder than his 40 year old engine will allow him to. Joshua doesn't like that style...but it shouldn,t matter anyway. Povetkin will be blowing from about the third round onwards. Fighting with the style povetkin does takes a lot out of you when your facing a bigger, heavier guy. Still got a shot. Can see Joshua stopping him tho.

That will be the problem for Povetkin, The referee for Parker was frightened a fight would break out.

I personally give Povetkin a chance, not a big one but a chance, he can really punch, I honestly believe he took Price very lightly, he thought he only needed to land one shot and it would be GAME OVER but fair play to Price, he came in looking good, his stamina looked better but ultimately he was KTFO.

I think Joshua will box almost exactly the same way he did against Parker, he will jab, try and keep it long, just box his way through and if Povetkin starts to fade he might press for a stoppage.

That said, Povetkin looked to be blowing a little bit against Price and then landed those two shots, so he could be dangerous right up until the end.

"Parker could take a shot. I feel like in our fight he was on the back foot. I wanted to set up the big fight with Wilder, so I wanted to box clever so I could secure the next one without taking no risk."

If this is how AJ felt about facing Parker, I can see a similar safety first performance against Povetkin. I can personally see a late KO win for AJ as Povetkin hasn’t Parker’s youth in his legs

good fight but I don't like to see someone who is a proven cheat get a shot at the heavyweight title. Its all wrong.

as a fight its a risk of course for AJ but I think he will win it -- Pricey almost had Povetkin away

    Another popular one this.

Fight pass tickets sold out extremely quick.

Stub Hub need to sort it out. Kept having tickets in my basket and by the time I’ve went to check out they had been taken by someone else.
