LOL it is £25; you are getting two of the ten best heavyweights of the moment fighting each other in an year of general misery. Some need to cheer up, and enjoy an early Christmas present.

Well, they both have a mutual scalp in Tom Little. Darch couldn’t knock a jenga tower down with a right hook though.

I'm not sure that's how Christmas presents are supposed to work, mate.
You could call everything with a £25 price tag a Christmas present, I suppose. But who's buying it for me ?

I hate to break this to you, there is no santa... ;)

If you want a little treat for yourself, you have to pay for it. And if £25 is breaking the bank, you perhaps need to look at your finances.

The only Christmas presents being bought in this situation are AJ's yacht and another Bentley for Eddie. Payed for by the fans.

Fair dues to them. They are being honest, better them than Bezos et al...

If you do not like it, look at what is required to change it...

There's a whole lot of things we can buy priced at £25 though, that's the point.
You add up all the things that someone might want that are "only £25" and it could run to hundreds of thousands of pounds. Most people need to pick and choose based on value.

This isn't a "Christmas present", it's just a boxing match that happens to be happening in December.
If SKY or Hearn or Joshua want to make it as a Christmas present, it would be free. That's my point. Christmas shouldn't be an excuse to expect sports fans to pay over the odds.

I don't ever buy SKY, so my finances are irrelevant.

But there are millions of normal people who struggle at Christmas time anyway, good hard working people who do like to buy presents, yes, many of who support boxing and made guys like Hearn and Joshua rich by loyally supporting them, and, yeah, in 2020, lots of people are struggling with their finances a little bit more than usual.
And there's SKY/Hearn slapping on another fiver to the price.
Your attitude seems to suggest these people "just need to sort themselves out", well, yeah, that's one way of looking at it. A valid way perhaps. The other way to look at it is to see that SKY/Hearn/Joshua are looking to squeeze that extra fiver out of normal loyal fans who have supported them and help them become the multimillionnaires they are.
Which looks like pure greed to most of us here.

Well, firstly, by voicing our opinion that it is NOT GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY.
Which is what we are doing on this thread.
But you seem to have the opposite view. That's fair enough.

Voicing objections is not a valid argument in this era. Action is required if you want change. A place like this is a forum to suggest what action is required, but on the understanding that is but a mere starting point. Otherwise it is just pointless banter/trolling.

They are putting on the fight with no crowd. Joshua only has a certain number of fights in him, and yet is prepared to give one away at this time, and it has been decided it will cost £25 a PPV subscription.

In this era, that does not strike me as greedy. It seems to me very generous, and indeed a reward for as you suggest, a loyal fancy. And coming as it does in mid December it could easily be given as an early Christmas present to a boxing fan. Thus helping those struggling at this time of the year.

As I have banged on about time and time again, a I think you too Unforgiven probably remember this, but PPV is so much better than the previous alternative, closed circuit. They truly were grim and taking into account inflation, more expensive.

    Question.

Would you rather a fight be £25 and you can choose to pay or not pay it

    Or

a fight to be cancelled because they can’t generate enough money at £20 per PPV and with no crowd?

You are banned from the Angling Society Annual Xmas Bash down at The River Inn coincidently on the same night as Tony Dosh PPV v Pudding Pulev.

Be cancelled as these multi millionaires don't need the cash.

If Tony Dosh PPV v Pudding Pulev does not happen then this is zero loss to boxing fans and society.

As I posted earlier yesterday within this thread, this £24-95 is merely providing Hearn with a gateway to making Joshua / Fury a £30 PPV.

    Seen it a mile off.
