    No I'm not

Was just a suggestion that would benefit the local clubs in a serious time of need , and not a really a criticism

    Slow down lol

It was a criticism though, you’re expecting Hearn and AJ to pay out their own pockets when nobody else is doing it?

But for me, not as nice as being able to watch it at home...

Maybe it is because I am getting old, but watching boxing in public does not do it for me anymore, people irritate!

You're framing this in a way which suggests that the prospect of someone donating to a cause and setting a precedent is unheard of.

I would recommend you to look up altruism. It comes in various forms, and can intersect with corporate social responsibility. Regardless of what the government is doing or not doing, nothing is stopping multi-millionaires being altruistic with their money.

If it's not in some way a financial investment (for example, good PR), I doubt Hearn will take a second glance.

£24.95 will become the new normal now.
AJ v Ruiz 2 was propped up with a massive site fee paid by the Saudis, AND a 15,000 seater stadium, AND was always going to do huge PPV numbers. It was still £24.95.

Basically the price will be whatever the market will bear, and by the market I mean whatever the average punter is prepared to pay for the fight. Nobody on this forum is the average punter, we are the boxing nerds.

Nothing will change until there is a show which undersells because a large number vote with their feet.

AJ v Fury will be £29.95.
As I understand it Sky sets the price, not Eddie. I dare say he has some input tho!

People say it isn't his or sky's responsinitly but i would argue it is. The same way the premier league should have some responsibility for lower divisions. They are sucking all the money out of the sport
It's bollocks that Sky set the price. Say sky decide its going to be 100 quid and nobody buys it. Who's paying the fighters?

So why can’t any other promoter or fighter set a precedent? I don’t see them being asked do anything, it’s just because it’s Hearn.

Unless things have changed dramatically for the Matchroom PPVs it’s a Sky/Matchroom 50/50 split so clearly Hearn does have some input.

Hearn's the only one charging an extra fiver though right now

Anybody who has made alot of money out of the sport should try and help out imo. Stop taking everything so personal when it comes to Hearn.

It jist so happens he made this statement in the midst of his 3rd PPV since lockdown.

He’s made a statement to help them and raise awareness which he will with his large following. BT are doing nothing and charging 20 quid for an exhibition/spar, proper helping boxing aren’t they.

Eddie : "I don't even set the PPV price"
Eddie : "This isn't my decision"

You can choose to believe Eddie or not, but thats what he said.
