I thought he was very good, but not quite great. The next Frank Bruno is you will. His best to wins were over 41 and 39-year-old men, and they gave him trouble. IMO, either would have beaten him if they were in their primes. Whyte, likely his 4th best opponent also gave him a rough moment or two.

He was beaten by Andy Ruiz Jr, a shorter fat guy with a 74" reach. Ruiz did prove a good chin, heart and will win. However he was just a solid type of puncher, Joshua could not take them at all. Joshua gets up on shaky legs, doesn't have the defense his average chin needs, and ended up quitting partly because the ref gave him extra time.

If AJ was taken out quickly by a bigger puncher, the loss would not look so bad.

What this fight showed me is any attacker with a good chin and hart who hits as hard or harder than Ruiz jr likely beats AJ. So those Tyson and Marciano threads are suddenly in for a reversal.

I don't think he can come back to where he was after this fight.

Its very difficult to predict isnt it.Lewis did it ,twice. The problem for AJ is Ruiz isn't perceived as a dynamite puncher, yet anytime he landed he had Joshua on ***** street, whereas Lennox was ko'd by two big shots that would probably have at least dropped anyone if not ko'd them.
It might be wiser to wait until Joshua's career is over before assessing him.Watching the fight in a bar ,with sound off I thought Joshua looked like a Bruno clone,at 29 he might come back ,then again Ruiz might stop him in the rematch, then it will really be finis for him.
You made a good post, but I disagree Joshua quit he can clearly be seen telling the referee he wanted to continue.

I still see a lot of offensive strengths in Joshua _ the wlad he fought was a always conditioned -still conditioned 41 year old and Joshua went head to head with him, looking at that fight there was 2 very superbly conditioned men and vast amateur experience and Vlad had over 60 fights_

The thing with Ruiz, besides getting off the floor from a powerful Joshua combo, Ruiz fought in his punching range, he got inside because of his short reach and unloaded in fluries and once he saw Joshua hurt he put the the pressure on. Ruiz has 30 fights and he was conditioned for a man who was at least 50lbs overweight.

Joshua is body perfect and at 6'6 250 a big strong guy but while weights and enhanchers can make a body strong, they have not found anything to give big men stronger chins.

Ruiz had the heart and will to get where the end of his punches reached Joshua's chin and when he found a home for his punch, he sent his friends (hands ) in for more- Ruiz looked at least 6inches shorter and at least 10 inches of reach-credit to him but he will not be a world beater in fact I think he loses to the top 3-4 in the 200lb and under class right now
