Not every excuse is a reason; not every reason an excuse.

And who appointed you as judge and jury?

We'll watch the fight, see the result, assess the performances and reach our conclusions...

Joshua beating Usyk would get a big kudos from me. It's a tall order for him, the better boxing brain has a big advantage going into a rematch, and I'll be genuinely surprised if he pulls off a clean victory.

I expect Usyk to close the show this time.

I’ve noticed AJ fans on the internet are really obsessed with how much credit AJ gets. Like, way more than fans of other boxers. It’s really weird.

If Joshua loses to Usyk, that still doesn't take away from the fact that Usyk is undoubtedly affected by the war in his home country. It just means that Usyk's mentality is that superior to Joshua's that even the toughest of times will not break him. Joshua on the other hand seems to be traumatised by getting hurt and takes months to recover from that psychologically.

If you think AJ is in his prime then you're truly deluded.

I don't use social media that much so could you please inform me on how Usyk's wife is such a wagon?

I think it probably comes from the Hearn narrative of Joshua only taking hard fights.

In some ways that’s true - I think Klitschko and Parker were (at the time) genuine risks. Joshua always has a stacked deck though - always the home fighter. Saying he only takes ‘hard fights’ removes all context.

Of course outside circumstances will have an effect on any fighter, especially a war in which he actually participated. He could be even more focused or he could be destracted, we'll never really know, especially before the fight. Usyk already made history, he had no business winning this fight, but he did it anyway. So again, the deck is stacked against him, I hope he makes history again!

Most Brits think 39 1/2 year old Wlad was in his prime versus Fury.

Good post, do agree with you regarding all the scenario's that go on before, during & after the fight even sometimes what happens after the fight has been fought months after,

Allot of people are not truly sure when they declare a statement one way or another & truthfully they just don't wont to be wrong by sounding unintelligent,

They even happen to change their whole opinion on something while contemplating something they have read or seen that makes them change their whole dialogue, seen this in the past of many build-ups of fights,

In fact just go through the countless of previous threads here or else where & see how the opinion's have been swayed in a number of months, weeks even days.

When was AJ's prime? When he barely got past Wlad? When he beat Povetkin? When he narrowly beat Parker? The Ruiz rematch? The Whyte fight? The Pulev fight? Or one his losses? I don't expect a response since some people shy from giving their own actual view.

My opinion is we don't know if AJ has reached his prime. Sure, he was blasting easier opponents out earlier in his career. But when he's stepped up to fight other hungry lions that are in his own age bracket, needing that big paycheck and are top tier talent, this is when he's either lost or had hard grueling fights - Parker, Whyte, Usyk and Ruiz. He's naturally not going to look as impressive when the competition increases. Wlad, Povetkin, Takam and Pulev were great wins as well but let's not get confused with the guys he was blasting away earlier in his career reminiscent of a certain Connor Benn right now with the Martin, Cornish and Molina type of guys.

AJ still has time improve, he's in his early 30's which for a heavyweight today is prime time. Especially considering he took up boxing late and has shown improvement in his recent fights. Even in the loss to Usyk, from memory he demonstrated a better ability to feint, better use of the jab, better gas tank (Usyk is extremely fit), doesn't go in with his chin in the air... could do a whole breakdown on how AJ has improved over the last 3 years.
