Yeah it would make sense to sign a tv deal with a network to try and get a match with a fighter who refuses to fight for years on end and has a running history of pulling out of fights.

Imagine if Joshua v Fury happened on BT and Hearn wasn’t allowed to play any part in it.

You’d have to measure it by the same benchmark. Because Fury hasn’t fought as a headliner in a serious fight in the UK for many years you can’t really compare.

I think Fury vs Joshua would sell better than Whyte vs Joshua though.

He's historically been a failure for selling tickets.

Without AJ, he'd still be dire if he defended the belts here.

Genuine question, has Fury ever been a big ticket seller?

Not sure he would anymore. He’s the second most popular boxer in the UK by quite a margin.

If he defended in the UK against anyone respectable, he’d sell well.

Didn't Fury v Seferi sell out Manchester Arena? Whyte's last fight with a crowd in the UK was against Rivas and it was half empty.

Exactly. There’s lots to criticise about Fury but I think it’s difficult to argue he’s anything else than second to Joshua in the popularity stakes in the UK and would sell well if he fought here.

Nope. The MEN holds 20k plus.

Haye/Harrison sold out there, and Tyson doesn't bring in crowds like that.

Stadium sold out in the first day. Consistently over 500k ppv buys for the last 5 years or so. I’m sure the event will be fine.

    Agreed.

I think people forget how much of a juggernaut the AJ brand is.

It's him, Canelo > Everyone else.
