Underwhelming card again for a PPV event but its just the norm these days. Boxing is so shite at the moment. Can't remember a time when it was so collectively poor. Really losing interest again.
Matchroom clearly don't want to give too many fights away to Sky... In fairness, the much-vaunted 'casuals' mentioned on here frequently, will probably only pay for the Joshua fight in any case so Sky probably don't care that much either.
Campbell Hatton needs to fck off. Poor card but very much expected. The tickets sold out before the undercard was announced and people will buy PPV for AJ, not the undercard. If Hearn makes a Sky card great it makes DAZN look worse. Expect ‘stacked’ DAZN cards and Hearn explaining how he couldn’t do it on the AJ card because of Sky.
Not quite sure what I was hoping for, but perhaps one other fight on the card that was of interest. Florian Marku could be interesting purely because he isn't the greatest
Good point. If you are seriously struggling at times vs Rylan Charlton the chances are you will be in a fire fight with Maxim Prodan. The Marku fight is on paper the most competitive fight on the undercard.
No women's fight on the card - interesting given how Sky were pushing it so hard last year. All in all a pretty poor effort, but let's face it, the main event sells itself for most people. I'll hold my nose firmly and pay the money for AJ v Usyk, imho it's his biggest test since Klitschko and I'm really looking forward to it. I really hope it's the last time AJ's with Sky though.
Its his only decent test pre and post Klitschko - incredibly embarrassing losing to then running away from a little fat pudding. Hopefully a sign of things to come and he gets in with Fury and Wilder next.
Very disappointing card and shite excuses online about no money left for the undercard. Could easily add least 2 competitive fights to this make a huge difference, or For instance u take away this full undercard and replace it with the Fowler vs Smith card it would be praised galore and be well worth the money
41 y.o opponent who did not had fought 17 months before this and does not have belts is cherry picked uncle not a test. Test A.J had: Parker and Ruiz Jr fights. Nothing more, while A.J is very good boxer. Resume is geriatric.
Charging £25 for effectively just AJ/Usyk is just plain cheeky. Okolie/Smith fighting lower calibre opponents plus Hatton in a four rounder isn’t worth anyone’s time on PPV.
