Definitely a better opponent for Joshua than Chisora is for Fury. Wallin is in his prime and Joshua has never fought him before. They never sent Arreola a contract or discussed a fight with him, that was just a lie from Fury fanboys. No, he did not. He's not a dirty fighter, but Fury is. I noticed the referee was protecting Fury. When Wallin punched him in the face, the ref would intervene.
If Joshua is wanting to prove a point fighting Wallin, I reckon he should wear an eye patch for this fight.
AJ plan is 2x confidence and work on some new atuffs fights against top 15 opponents and then big fight against Joyce, Wilder, and probably Fury is in that list, if he is serious about it.
Fury fans are really strange. They overhyped Wallin after he bust up Furyz but now when AJ going to fight him, he turns into a bum..... Let's not forget he busted Fuey badly and hurt him big time in the 12 round. Fury holded for dear life most of the fight and should have been penalized multiple time. AJ won't clinch even once, that's for sure. Let's flashback a bit: This content is protected Fury is holding, charging with his head, hitting while holding and pullin and leaning on Wallin, then Wallin is dirty??? Fury should have been penalized like 10 times.
I like this fight. I'll give it to Joshua, at least he's putting in the work. His ceiling is clear but I think he gets a brutal stoppage here.
When Fury fights Wallin: “Wallin is a bum, total mismatch, cherry pick, Fury should be ashamed of himself” When AJ fights Wallin: “This is a great fight, AJ always fights the best, good test for AJ”
A decent enough scrap for AJ coming off two back to back losses. Wallin will defo be up for this for sure. And I think he'll fancy it. I suspect AJ wins this but as long as Wallin puts in a decent losing performance Wallin will benefit one way or another from this. Him having both then fought Fury and AJ proves he's game. I'd still like to see Wallin/ Whyte after this.
Except nobody said that. From what I gather in this thread, people consider this a confidence builder and certain W against a recognizable young journeyman. AJ also whooped him in Ams
Disspointing fight, yes he caused Fury all sorts problems but he wouldn't even be amongst the top 7 guys AJ has beaten.
It's a really good fight for both fighters. Wallin is looking to prove himself after Whyte ducked him. AJ is looking for a confidence booster after the Usyk losses. This is a very interesting match up. Wallin is a southpaw and could give AJ a lot of problems. At the same time, AJ could win a wide decision, and outperform Fury against a similar opponent.
I no longer have a high opinion of Joshua, but he should defeat Wallin, Joshua looked very good in the second fight with Usyk at the beginning of the fight and that means he could and should knock out Pillow Fist Wallin who boxed all rounds against lower-class fighters Booker and Sokolowski, Joshua is a different caliber than those two mentioned fighters and outboxing Joshua will not be enough and I doubt that Wallin has the power to defeat him by stoppage.
A couple of years back, I would have picked AJ. It depends how badly broken he has been mentally by two losses to Usyk. He will have a lot riding on this fight if it transpires. A loss would basically remove his name from top level competition.
