As i say long time ago i don't like this fight, and AJ shouldn't face Whyte, even if he wants to fight easy touch before the Wilder fight, this is not even close to Fury vs Chisora.

Fury vs Chisora already have fought twice. And while it's debatable who is more shot of the two, Whyte is younger, and it's way more dangerous than Chisora.
On top of that AJ is after 2 loses to Usyk. He is rebuilding. It's not Champion anymore, and it's a filler fight for Wilder.
And at least this ain't their 3rd fight at the Pro ranks.

Fury was unbeaten. Fury was Champion. That was supposed to be warm up for Usyk, but in reality it was not, and if you remember correctly i was telling you back then, that Fury won't fight Usyk in February/March, as his promoter Frank was claiming to be the case.
And you were arguing that Fury will fight him, and yeah you see how's that plays out.

This ain't great match by any means, but AJ ain't Champ anylonger, and it's not on a winning streak. This is a typical rebuild/filler fight, before a big showdown with Wilder.

And have in mind this is AJ second fight this year, and he will have 1 more either December or January.

More pressure on joshua now so that means that whyte will most likely beat him and will spoil the wilder fight like ruiz did years ago.

Well normally I'd say AJ would win, and quite easily. But given that we have a potential fight between him and Wilder right around the corner, I wouldn't be surprised if Whyte is somehow able to pull off the upset and scupper those plans  At least the rematch clause was apparently taken out of the contract, so worst case scenario we end up seeing Whyte get his head cut off by Wilder later in the year instead of having AJ and Whyte tied up for a trilogy bout.

You know what's really ****ed up though? I really do not like this fight, at all, because I think pointless rematches are stupid, and they're even worse when they happen years later. And yet, at the time it happens it will probably be one of the top five heavyweight fights of the year. The division is so dead that a rematch to a fight that happened damn near eight years ago is gonna be one of the better ones when it happens. That's just plain pitiful.

Thankfully right after Usyk-Dubois and Zhang-Joyce II are right around the corner, with possibilities for AJ-Wilder and Usyk-Hrgovic down the road, so it prolly won't stay that way for long. Maybe the division will pick up in the second half of the year and give us a few more decent ones. If not, at least the rest of the weight classes have been having a good run so far.

I'm quite looking forward to the fight. But, yes, this rematch is about 3 years too late. Though, I don't see it as a wasted rematch

Whyte and Joshua fight 1 was at British level. They have both developed as fighters since then. Unfortunately they have both regressed the last few years too. Is it a coincidence that for Whyte this all seems to align with him leaving Mark Tibbs?

I'd like to see if Joshua can rekindle the old fire. If Whyte can't bring that out of him then I might start picking Wilder

How many rebuild fights does he need?

Let's just call Joshua out for what he is. A greedy fraud who wants to earn as much money as possible for as little effort as possible. No difference to Fury.

This fight is a trap for boxing fans to pay because they currently have no choice due to the lack of fights in heavyweight division, Zhang vs. Joyce II is the real deal and I will gladly pay for that fight...

I'm not convinced it's going to be the big draw Eddie thinks it is.

It'll be on Dazn, Joshua is yesterday's man and Johnny Casual is bored shitless of the prima Donna's in the heavyweight division.

If they go Wembley I'm not sure it sells out.

Edit: just realised it's in the o2 so I guess they thought the same lol

How many he have so far exactly ?
This is going to be his second one, and Whyte is in top 10 in pretty much most boxing organization. Way better fight than the Chisora one you were trying to push a narrative about.
And again AJ is not a Champion anylonger, it's after 2 defeat, and it's going to fight Wilder in December.
    So how about 2.

Now compare it to your old favorite fighter Fury. Whyte, Chisora, and now exhibition against MMA guy. And Fury is Champion and undefeated. On top of that he hasn't line any big fights, and it's keep ducking Usyk.

And again i already said like million times ago that i don't like this fight and i hope it didn't materialize it, and prefer AJ to have fought someone else.

And didn't have a problem fighting top guys when he was Champion. He didn't have problem with getting the fights. He also didn't do exhibition fights ....

You don't need 2 rebuild fights after losing on points to the best boxer in the world.

1 fair enough I guess but this is taking the ****. £26 on PPV. It'll bomb hard.

Then don't buy it. It's that simple. To be fair i won't buy the PPV as well.
Again what i see on here was all crying when AJ announce that he will fight in December. People start crying that he should have a fight in the summer before the Wilder fight. Few days ago when it's seems that Whyte may not take the fight, people were start saying that AJ is ducking Whyte, and that he is scared of him.

Again that summer fight was never going to be big name, as Hearn have said that already long ago.
It was Whyte or Kabayel type of opponent.
And i prefer Kabayel to be fair, as AJ at least never faced him.

And again AJ ain't Champion, you can't keep him on the same standard as the Champions in the division.

And btw Fury had 2 fights against a lot lesser opponents, on his big comeback. Fury had 2 fights after his first fight with Wilder, and again he was still undefeated.
Should i even mention the opposite level ?

And who Wilder has fought exactly since his return ? His sparring partner, and now we can bet that his next opponent will be worst than Whyte, if he fights at all.

Do i like the Whyte fight ? Hell NO! Pointless fight that does zero to AJ legacy, and it's all for Whyte to be fair. But if the WIlder fights happen in December, AJ would have fought 3x time this year, which would be good, and Wilder fight is huge.

    AJ fighting Whyte
    Usyk fighting Dubious
Fury fighting a cruiserweight or MMA fighter

Who will they find for Wilder? Won't be Ruiz Jr.

As fans we are rather bereft of decent heavyweight bouts, so i am willing to say it not the bout i want to see, but will watch it, with view that by years end we will have the AJ vs Wilder bout.

I think Whyte will test if AJ is gun shy.

    But yes see AJ prevailing
