there is probably the best crop of potential prospects in a long time, but theyre all just starting out, could be 18 months to 2 years before they start stepping up. and even then they probably wont be big money fights yet. i think the Parker fight could still be big but only coz it would more than likely involve AJ in a unification

 

By the time AJ dispatches of Wilder the likes of Hrgovic and Dubois will be starting to be established.

 

I heard Wilder isn`t that known in America though.

 

I kind of see your point, but I don't think Wilder is such a huge name globally for it to be THAT huge ever, really.

 

The worst thing which could happen is this fight us dragged out and doesn't happen for say another 18 - 24 months.

Why run the risk of someone losing (It can happen).

The biggest issue will be if AJ signs exclusive to HBO. Then you have a problem.

 

I doubt he is,he just sent out a little clip of him on twitter,tweeting Showtime.If someone is about to leave a network,you'd see signs,at the moment i believe he's going to stay with showtime,until the Wilder fight happens.

 

Joshua could fight me and he would still sell out a stadium. He’s the biggest name in sport, never mind boxing.

 

This is why i don't think Hearn will mind too much if Haye beats Bellew, at least then he can line up an AJ/Haye fight before this Dubois comes through. Something has to keep the interest going and Hearn will find it.

 

If Haye beats Bellew, i’d expect them to milk it in a third fight.

 

Hearn thinks that now,but knowing Haye he would demand 50/50.When in reality it should be 70/30 to Joshua.That will be the stumbling block.I'd love to see this fight happen,but the only thing missing would be a prime Haye.Imagine a Prime Haye v This Joshua.I wouldnt want it to be at wembley,as every Joshua fight is being talked up for Wembley.Joshua-Fury/Wilder/Whyte2.Maybe the Emirates/Olympic Stadium.

 

Depends if Bellew wants it i reckon, if he gets knocked sparko i suspect he'll call it a day. He will never really penetrate the HW division and there are too many hard fights at CW now. He's in limboland with nowhere to go.

 

That’s quite possible, mate. If he wins I reckon he’ll get in with Parker, if he loses like you say he might knock it on the head or push for a third fight. He is in a bit of limbo but he’s achieved a lot in his career. I think he will see Haye off though.

Wilder's nothing. He has an uncanny ability to fight nobodies, forever. It's unworthy of our attention now.

AJ is the best out there. Parker's a decent prospect but he's had three dull unimpressive outings in a row now. There's no one else worth talking about.
The rest of the heavyweights are has-beens and nobodies. The division is dead.

 

OP : If AJ and Wilder fight there are still dozens of interesting potential matchups in the division- Parker, Ortiz, Takam, Povetkin, Miller, Whyte and perhaps a returning Tyson Fury.
