See that's the thing for me, I have started doubting AJs power a bit. Wilder proved his against Ortiz and Fury. I need to re watch some highlights of AJ, if I can fall back in love with his power I'd probably go with the consensus that he beats Wilder down and knocks him out before he ever becomes a threat.
Pulev blocked a lot of clean shots with his face before that though. Thinking about it, there aren't many big punchers in the Heavyweight division right now. Guys like Joshua and Whyte obviously hit hard but i wouldn't really call either of them knock out specialists. Wilder is the only guy who can pull a KO punch out of nowhere imo.
Taken in a vacuum in 2015, I would have given Wilder the slight edge. But with each passing year Joshua was getting experience against a variety of styles at a higher level than Wilder was. That experience improves a fighter. So Wilder's chances diminished year on year, and Joshua became the favourite from 2016 onward.
Boxing skills - Joshua by a large margin Size/Strength - Joshua (weight) Height/Length - Wilder Power - Wilder Speed - Even Chin - Wilder Heart - Wilder
AJ has beaten half dozen guys better than Wilder whilst Wilder has never beaten anyone close 5o AJs level. There's a reason why Wilder's team avoided the AJ fight like the plague and is the biggest duck in boxing history. AJ would make quick and easy work of Wilder back then and now.
Which 6 fighters are better than Wilder in your opinion? And there's been much bigger ducks in much bigger fights over history mate.
Wlad, Povetkin, Whyte, Parker, Ruiz and Pulev. All better resumes (much better in the case of the first 4) and would beat Wilder in a potential fight.
