Here's a quite interesting scenario: Fury beats Wilder (as most folks expect) Usyk takes a 'year out' to recharge / be with his family (lots of hints dropped on this) Hearn moves AJ away from the Usyk rematch, and makes Fury vs AJ for the WBC AJ gets and immediate shot at being 3x heavyweight champ and probably more money even without belts Everyone get's the big UK-showdown Usyk gets a good rest and family time Fury vs Joshua May/Jun 22 Usyk vs winner late 2022 I could really see this happening, win-win for everyone - except Donkey of course!!
lol, is this a joke post or what? Why would Fury want to fight "no belts" Joshua? AJ brings nothing to the table, so he has got nothing to lose, whereas Fury has nothing to gain and a lot to lose. AJ needs to avenge his loss first, before stepping into the ring with the Gypsy King. As it stands, AJ's stock is low and he is currently irrelevant.
Not a joke post at all, and the answer to why Fury might want to do this would be: 1) Money - even without the belts Fury vs AJ is more of a money fight than either AJ / Usyk rematch or Fury / Usyk 2) I'm not entirely sure Fury really fancies Usyk - high-risk -even to Fury. 3) Why would Fury let Usyk put the final nail in AJs "coffin" - I'm sire he'd love to do that himself 4) Bet your bottom dollar that Hearn will push it, because it was clear after the fight that although AJ was making noises about rematch, Hearn ain't that confident, challenging Fury for "all-british showdown" is still emminently marketable - much more so IMO I'm not saying it's gonna pan out that way, but it wouldn't surprise me if it did, not in the slightest. But if Usyk does take an extended break, what is Joshua gonna do? Just wait a whole year? Hearn will angle for the next best title-fight in that case IMO. Money talks...
He always said he wanted to fight Joshua and Joshua's looking pretty vulnerable so why not do it ? Because in Fury's own words he doesn't care about the belts, the legacy, or the money. I see nothing wrong with it. It would still be a big resume booster and a big fight though not as big considering Joshua got his ass whooped by Usyk.
Hearn has already advised Joshua to take the immediate rematch with Usyk as he may well never get the option to fight for the belts again, Hearn further stated that this is Joshua,s only option. As for Joshua v Fury this fight is now well past its prime when it was to be an all British showdown for the Undisputed fight. Should Fury beat Wilder again then surely he will look to fight Usyk for the Undisputed fight, unless the WBC tells Fury to fight Whyte the WBC mandatory first .
It would make perfect sense as Joshua plans to rematch Usyk anyway so Fury will need an opponent while he waits .
Usyk would be a fool to take any time off at this stage. If he does, he will never get a big fight. Got to strike while the iron is hot. Plus he will be rusty and need a tuneup if he takes time off. Guys pushing 35 don’t take time off after winning belts unless they are injured. He already lost time over the past couple years. I’d push for a December or January rematch with Joshua. In the US if they can’t get it in Ukraine. They chances of a fight in the Ukraine are slim and none. US is a good neutral site.
Lol so the A side the moment he loses his belts and gets exposed for being a stiff unimaginative robot now desperately wants a fight with Wilder after pricing himself out for years?
This doesn't mean much. If AJ is making $80 million while Wilder is making $15-20 million. That is not a fair split
