I have a different criteria for what constitutes an ATG. A boxer has to be the best of his own era and that's it. If a boxer indisputably and conclusively proves that he is the best of his era by becoming the number 1 boxer of the division and remains one for a long enough time (the longer the better), then they will go down as an ATG.

We can't indisputably compare boxers from different eras. Unless we stick to strict and consistent standards.

I personally believe modern boxers are better than pre-1985 boxers. And they're probably still getting better.

Wilder fights with his length and reflexes. I'll give him 3 years tops.

After Saturday Joshua will have defeated 5 of the top 16 guys. 33% of them in just 21 fight.

Wilder, Povetkin and maybe Ortiz are the only others he would get credit for beating maybe.

Then it’s Pulev, Miller, Kownacki, Hammer, Dimitrenko, Duhuapas and Miller left...

You can’t blame that on AJ! If he dominates his era he’s an ATG. He can’t be held responsible for those guys being the top fighters.

Wilder won't beat Joshua. So he will have beat Ortiz & that's about it! A 40 yr old with high blood pressure & not one decent win or belt to his name! ATG career? Artur Spilzka express train to Nowhere incoming..

There is a reason the HW champs of the pre Louis 1930's ....it's because their opposition sucked.Hammer, Douhuapas, Pulev, GTFOH with that crowd.

How is more important than who at this point. If he squeaks by Wilder and Fury like he did Wlad no, not really. There are several I favor over that performance. He's got to up his game not his name.

Neither fighter should be considered HOF worthy let alone ATG.

AJ is arguably already an ATG, certainly if he beats Parker. Wilder is very close. Certainly if he beats AJ.

People hate to give credit to contemporary fighters, but resumes don't lie. Bowe is almost uniformly considered a top 25 HW ATG, and AJ will have a better resume than him if he beats Parker. Vitali is generally considered a top 15-20 HW ATG, largely from the strength of his second reign. And, while with somewhat weaker names, Wilder is only two defenses away from matching Vitali's second reign.

Unless one of them falls off a cliff in terms of performance, and does surprisingly badly the rest of their career, both AJ and Wilder will probably be regarded as top 30 ATG HWs by the end of their careers. And both will have an opportunity to secure a much higher ranking for themselves.
