Has there ever been as much raw hypocrisy as the potential Fury Wilder fight has generated among fans of both sides? It's amusing but kinda disturbing to see one side accuse the other of hypocrisy, right after they make their own specious argument about why the matchup they prefer deserves much more credit.

The fact is, unless Fury is noticably out of shape and dreadful to the eye test, a Wilder win would deserve every bit as much credit as AJs win over Wlad. Wlad being 41 and coming off a year and a half of inactivity, and over two years since his last win, deserves just as much of an asterisk as a win over Fury, who would have had two fights in that year and aged 30, but who went through a massive coke abuse and weight fluctuation earlier. AND the Wlad win would be just as meaningful for AJ as the Fury win would be for Wilder. You can make arguments at the margins about one deserving a little more respect than the other, but to say one deserves respect and the other doesn't is just the height of hypocrisy

    I disagree.

At this point Fury might still be another Leon Spinks or James Douglas. Beating the big man , and then doing nothing of note ever again.
Plus there's still the whole issue that Fury should actually have been banned at the time he beat Wlad

    agreed

plus Fury by the time Fury would have fought Wilder he would have shed the pounds and also had 2 comeback fights and be still in his physical prime

Wlad was inactive, old, coming off a defeat and had no wins or tune ups in between plus the canceled Fury rematch training camps that at that age would have a toll

The bashing Wilder for this fight is silly until we see Fury vs Pianeta. If he looks bad vs Pianeta after even more training time and weight loss then I would be disinterested in this fight

But we also have their confrontation fromthe Barclays Center and personal bad blood so I can see why both would really want this fight

For whatever reason Joshua and his team say how hard Wilder is to negotiate with but at the same time these two seem to negotiate well together makes you wonder

either way Fury has been involved in many cancellations and postponements wouldnt be surprised if this never went off

A man who is 6'8 260 lbs that has top notch ring IQ and can move well on his feet simply cannot be put in the same category as Leon Spinks or Buster Douglas.

With you in principle, though I think the base Fury has prior to the Wlad fight gives him some decent standing

buster douglas that was up for it v tyson / motivated by his mothers death and in the best shape of his life IMO beats both joshua and wilder

that douglas for that one fight was a truely great fighter

    jab /movement/timing/combos/speed/ will to win/heart/motivation./stamina

he had the eye of the tiger for that one fight there was n0o one and no thing that was going to stop him winning

he beat the living **** out of tyson round after round in a display or pure boxing fluidty and abilty.

This is forum politics. The truth doesn't out in the era of "wILDER IS GHEY" thread starters.
