Okay, school me hee please boxing heads. So Pulev's promoter has confirmed that the IBF announced him as mandatory, thus the winner of AJ-Wlad winner must face him with no interim bouts. BUT I'm sure the WBA said the same thing about Ortiz. Now, as I understand, the IBF rules state a unification can happen before a mandatory but they would only do that for the WBA Super as opposed to the WBA Regular. But the Super title is only available to someone who has more than one world title (going by the WBA's dubious definition). Does that sound right? Everything there indicates to me that one of the belts will be vacated by the winner, then the loser will face the other guy for that vacant belt most likely. Perhaps the IBF would recognise it as a unification and then allow that fight to happen first but...nah
They must still think fury is the champion and are looking to screw him, they will change their tune when they realise there mistake
Both guys are mandatories and just have to be obeyed, one IBF and the other WBA. That's why it's so hard to keep multiple belts in a division. The WBA have always been rather lose on the timeframe in those (and basically all) cases, so it will probably be Pulev (IBF) first or WBO unification.
The wbc enforce them too, once every 4 years if it suits them, and if it suits wilder too, they don't want to out him out
Yeah, as much as their rankings usually suck the IBF at least enforce these properly. Wlad-Pulev-Ortiz/Pakrer would potentially make for a very good year on a resume.
