GOLDEN SLIPPER RESULTS: 1st Serbring 2nd Von Costa De Hero 3rd Portillo Masterful training performance by Gai Waterhouse to have Serbring fit enough to win on a slow track after 7 weeks between races. Von Costa De Hero was unlucky after settling last then pulling around the field, only to go down by a head to Serbring who got a lovely run inside the field.
MY FAVOURITE DAY OF THE YEAR.....AJC Derby + AJC Doncaster Handicap. Looks like the horses may need floaties and flippers because the rain is now into it's 14th consecutive day (a record of some sorts) which is a shame really although the track should hold up fairly well. Look for runners that can handle soft going but stay away from runners that tail off as Randwick is a notorious front runners paradise when it hasn't seen trafic for a while. Hopfully the rain will even things up a little. While I've got a few tips I'm going to go all or nothing for the bank (rupt). The horse I like is OIL BARON who is running in the first race of the day (Fernhill Handicap) and if you jump in now you'll get over the odds @ 11/2 ($6.50) Oil Baron is by the champion Lonhro, a winner a 11 Group 1 races which included an incredible Australian Cup victory after copping some bad interference. As with Lonhro, Oil Baron has a great turn of foot and will be suited by the step up to the mile. He has proven himself on sof ground and will love the open spaces of Randwick. Darren Beadman will ride this lovely colt who is trained by Kevin Moses. Back him ASAP because he will not start better than 4/1. BANK $200 BET: Randwick R1: No.6 Oil Baron $200 @ 11/2 (To return $1300) Total Bet $200 *You can watch Lonhro's 11 Group 1 victories on Youtube on the link provided [yt]Ch-kedNLirQ&NR=1[/yt]

While I did get a few wins here and there throughout the carnival it had to be one of the worst ever. I usually do well in the Autumn (better than the Melbourne Spring Carnival) but the wet tracks and lack of depth killed me..... The wife won't know until she attempts to withdraw business funds. I think it's called embezzelement or something like that....
Ajay are you a bulldogs supporter?if so are you the ajay that they're talking about that did a post at the kennel that folkes has his knickers in a twist about?
**** THE BULLDOGS !!!! I used to play in the Canterbury comp and even had their 1980's premiership winning front rower Geoff Robinson as my coach 20 years ago but through it all I've been a magpie at heart. So no I didn't bag Steve Folkes or the team because I enjoy watching them get their arse smacked. That said he's done as good as he can with the lack of depth at the club. They don't have a general on the park that can lead the way and Sonny Bill is usually 'double teamed" by the opposition. It's just the way things are these days with the salary cap. They need to give discounts to long term players and juniors that come through the grades so teams keep the players they've developed as juniors. Unfortunately teams like Melbourne are opposed to the idea because they don't develop ****!!! As for Canterbury, doesn't matter who coaches them it'll be a few years before they're a premiership threat. :yep
I thought it was funny too....until I found out my cell mate was a 400lb drug induced biker with a very high sex drive. :smh Th*y also hav* outdat*d comput*rs..... :|
