Is Branco vs Witter official?

 

Lynes was not robbed vs Branco.

 

I felt he was, I scored it 115-112 in Lynes favour - though he did do a bit an Oscar vs Tito in the later rounds (though not as bad).

Witter vs Branco is 90% nailed on as I understand, hopefully Witter will win to set up a rematch with Tim Bradley.

 

I can remember the discussion and alot of people thought he was hard done by but I think I had it to Branco. I think I scored the even rounds to Branco but they could have gone either way. I think the feeling was that Lynes just did not do enough to make the result certain.


Hopefully Lynes will come back well and get a few more good wins on his ledger.

 

No he did not. Branco is a shot fighter past his sell by date who beat Lynes by making the fight rough with no finesse and the Pacifist Lynes could not cope. If Barnes is anywhere near as good as he can be then he should stop Lynes.

Please don't mention Cynthia Lynes in the same breath as Ajose it really is quite disrespectful. Lynes popularity in certain circles is puzzling to say the least.

First of all dwilson trust you are well. I have missed you and I mean that sincerely. Unfortunately I have been travelling a lot recently and have not been on the posts since the Margarito versus Cotto contests. That said as you now know Ajose is ranked number 3 in the WBC rankings which is the title we want. We will take a stay busy fight in October and look to take out the number 1 contender Devon Alexander to force a mandatory against either Timothy Bradley or Edner Cherry. At this stage the British and European title probably don't make sense unless a fight with the domestic rivals could be made for a lot of money however they don't remain keen to fight us do they. Unfortunately it is not like being in football league or tournament when you have to face all comers. In boxing it is more a case of he looks a bit tasty no thanks. Shame but true.

 

Also dwilson the truth is that we don't need a tune up for a title shot or for Witter as we are very experienced ala our amateur pedigree and our sparring. We are are not a prospect we are a hungry determined talented fighter ready to take on anyone to prove our worth.

 

I agree it is not happening because the so called best at least in Britain are a bunch of mummies boys who want to be pampered, pull out of contests and prefer 80-20 probality fights in their favour. If you are frustrated imagine how frustrated we are.

 

Glad you are well. Yep. Ajose is in a good position with his WBC 3 and although the fighters around him are good no one really stands out. I hope the stay busy fight is against an ok opponent and not down at the level of some of his recent opposition. I still believe that Ajose would be better off traveling to America and making camp, Maloney needs to reward him with a big push. It is a shame Ajose is not a bigger ticket seller, he could do with following Witters example and KOing people so that people have to take him serious.

Lynes pwned Branco.

It seems you get robbed If you don't go forward and get tagged. Lynes even scored a knockdown and boxing his head off on the outside.

Only scored about 2 or 3 rounds for Branco.

Olusegan would of lost to Wright If he didn't gas out. Olusegan couldn't handle the pressure at first.

 

First of all Big Ears I must say I was dissappointed by your initial for the reason that I view you as a knowlegaeble boxing man.

I will point out certain things some of which you are not aware. Some of the International fighter you mention such as fellow Africans Samule Malinga, Ben Tackie and Herman Ngoudo know Ajose very well from the amateur days and will not fight him unless it was for serious money which is not available. Ajose will fight them as they all know the pecking order back in Africa. Herman in particular is a close personal friend of Ajose they were in the same olympics, international competitions etc. In fact I think the mistake we made was to be based in the UK I really do. We were the Gold Medallist at the All African not these guys you mention. His international amateur classmates, Samuel Peter, Jermain Taylor, Cotto etc have won and lost world titles. Point being is that they started their pro career in the USA.

We are happy to fight Branco. I know Maloney is trying but until the fight is signed I am not holding my breath.

As for Gary Reid for probably the only time in his career he was given proper long notice and came into the ring in the shape of his life. I give him credit because he was hurt severely but on his opportunity to hit the bigtime he came in shape and went the distance. After he survived the assault in round 9 even I was wishing he lasted the distance and congratulated him on his valour. He may not be the best in Britain but he is clearly the bravest in my book. The Gary Reid of that night I don't think gets stopped by those who have stopped him or others you mention.

You say above domestic level. He has had to fight a lot of Eastern European who know how to survive in the ring as well as International class like Bradley Pryce, Ali Nuumbembee, Victor Kpadenue, Martin Holgate and others as the underdog.

We just want to fight. We will fight whoever BSkyB and Frank Maloney put in front of us. We don't discriminate. None of the guys you mention have exactly been willing to get in there with us have they?

Frank might have lobbied but the fact that he is the undefeated African champion and beaten several Welterweight and Light Middleweights knocking them out might have something to do with it.

 

Says it all really an underprepared Ajose beats Wright who has prepared for months and runs out of gas. Perhaps the reason Wright lost was because of what Olusegun did to him.
