Hot of the press from the WBC Convention: "Champion Timothy Bradley has a mandatory defense due May 10, 2009. Don King wants his charge Devon Alexander to be the next challenger for Bradley. Gary Shaw and Alex Camponovo want their charge Bradley to have a voluntary defense against the winner of the December clash for the WBO belt between Ricardo Torres and Kendall Holt. The WBC does not want that fight to be for the WBO belt, only for the WBC belt and only if the winner agree to fight the mandatory WBC challenger, be it Alexander, the winner of #2 Junior Witter and #3 Ajose Olusegun eliminator or an eliminator between #1 Alexander and #2 Witter." There you have it I told you the WBC would order a title eliminator between Ajose Olusegun and Junior Witter. Camp Witter made the mistake of their lives rejecting the counter offer we made when they gave us late notice to fight him tomorrow. Now we get a better purse split and time to prepare properly. We would have knocked him out now it is guaranteed. Good luck on Saturday Junior Witter(and his fans), hope you don't muck it up and lose and we get it on in the New Year.
About ****ing time for Olusegun, what a waste he's been up to now, especially the last year. I'll be looking forward to this one. It's good he gets full prep, there can be no excuses this way.
Reading that it seems Witter has the option of fighting Alexander rather than Ajose? And Alexander has the option of sitting tight and getting his shot in May?
Christ!! I just checked Alexanders record, how the hell has he got a top 10 ranking never mind a number 1??
I was actually thinking of the title fight not the eliminator but since you ask I will get all of you tickets for the eliminator as well. I don't mind being out of pocket to see Witter retired.
Genuinely pleased for you Olu - really hope Witter v Olusegun happens, making it an eliminator provides motivation for both so should be a good fight and one I'd look forward to seeing. :good
A Witter-Ajose eliminator to fight Bradley is just one of several possibilites that that message allows.
Exactly. I don't think Olu will end up too out of pocket! Whenever I watch a Witter fight on telly I actually look forward to the advert breaks between rounds.
