I'd like to see the Wallin fight and hopefully AJ blows him away. The hype for Fury v AJ will soon be back on.
Doesn't bode well for his career. Only fights once per year and then completely disappears from the public eye the other 51 weeks of the year. I thought now he no longer had the belts he might have the impetus and freedom to get in the ring a bit more. I can understand side stepping the Fury fight right now (as disappointing as that was) but I can't understand not having a confidence builder against Wallin/Ortiz/Whyte. Hell even the Arreola fight would be better than nothing. He needs go get a few wins on his record before getting in with Wilder/Fury next year imo.
The man has been exposed badly and will never win another World Title unless he waits a few years then fights for a vacant title in a rematch with Matt Legg at Wembley Arena before defending his acquired vacant title in a rematch with Hector Avilla at the York Hall. Fury, Wilder, Joyce and Usyk all way above his level and hungry fighters such as DDD or Bakole would also plant him badly. The Daz UK Doorstep Challenge awaits him in 2023.
Disappointing. So much for Eddie saying he was going to be more active than ever fighting 3 or 4 times a year and touring the world.
This content is protected Looks like the bodybuilder is getting ready for his new career. Just one more loss a against a morbidly obese foe, and it's curtains for Joshua. Time to milk the endorsements before the milk goes dry. lol
Completely agree. He has been way WAY too inactive for years. I appreciate the level of opponent he fights, but he is/was in prime, not some war torn veteran approaching 40 Pre-2019 - Joshua was a great champion; hungry and active. 2019 onward - Joshua the business man took over; inactive with a focus on money and profile It's been really frustrating to watch him wasting his prime years.
AJ was a joke paper champion in 2016, picking up the IBF title from Martin & defending it against Breazeale & Molina 2017 saw him gain some credibility beating Wladimir Klitschko in an epic. but Klitschko was 41 and coming off a loss & was 2 1/2 years since he'd had a good win. AJ follows up with Takam, who was a little notch above Breazeale etc. granted.. but not world beater. maybe a top 15 type or so. 2018: AJ v Parker a decent points win but nothing special. Parker had barely got past Hughie in previous fight & before that he struggled with Cojanu FFS. good KO of 39 year old Povetkin. Povetkin a credible challenger but not a prime boxer by any means. I don't think this merits great champion at all. is not so impressive. I don't think AJ can be faulted too much for inactivity since 2019, considering the pandemic stuff going on. he was never all that. built up by media to be something he couldn't live up to.
