Has this changed for you following the weekend? He did stop Wlad and drop him a few times. But all the same Wlad took an awful lot of shots from AJ and none of the knockdowns were 'clean'. Wlad also had a chinny rep among some. So in your opinion is AJ's power a bit over-hyped? Is Wlad maybe just a bit tougher around the whiskers than we thought? Or can you make a case for both/neither to be true?
Anthony Joshua has above average power, but I wouldn't say he's got bone crunching power. B/B+. Maybe A-.
The third knockdown was definitely clean. Joshua has power, why would someone's opinion change? Joshua showed power while gassed. And who has knocked Wlad out cold?
Nobody has knocked out Wlad cold, even Sanders took a whole load of shots and a head butt to get him down the first time.
He clearly has power but maybe not that 1 punch KO power. Golovkin type power imo hard hitting but needs to land 2 or 3
He is a flat footed 250 pound superheavyweight. Almost all of them have power... Fury doesn't because loses it for the gifts of speed, stamina and flexability which no men this large exibit. But don't think his lack of power means he doesn't do damage. Getting your head boxed off by a man that big is no fun ask Chisora and Wlad. Chisora's head look like a football after 10 rounds.
He has knocked bigger /heavvier guys thus far than Mike tyson ever did........to say hes not top 5 puncher is false. Hes heavy handed/speed accurate...all together witha force of 250 pounds and looking at some of the impact tells me this. The only guys i may have over him is M.Tyson and W.klitchko. No one else! and thats If they hit harder hes only had 19 fights and knocked out some guys who were very hard to in the manner he did....just watch the Johnson fight and thats whebn he wasnt hitting as hard as he is now. He has good power, Wlad hits harder but Joshua hits plenty hard enough. You have to remember Joshua was hitting and hurting him with his weaker left hook and really didn't land any big, clean straight rights at all. Probably because Joshua telegraphs the right hand so badly it made it easy for Wlad to anticipate it. Had he landed his usual finisher the straight right it might of been a earlier night for Joshua. He didn't land a single good flush right hand until the uppercut caught him and then the fight was pretty much a foregone conclusion. So yeah Joshua hits hard, even his weaker left hook can rattle you.
Joshua hits very hard but not as devastating as the fan boys want you to believe.... Wlad's chin whilst not concrete is far from glass too and not as bad as the haters want you to believe....
Spot on. Joshua is a big strong unit, so hes obviously going to be heavy handed, but hes a thudding heavy handed puncher rather than a devastating puncher. As i mentioned on another thread, i don't remember Joshua getting a single clean KO. He's knocked down and hurt every one of his opponents, but not put anybody out clean.
AJ looks like he is punching 4" behind your face alot less snap at the end. I think his punching is like vitali they going to hurt and after a few rounds you go down and do not want to get up. I for one would not want to be anywhere near a clean shot off AJ
