Missing the point completely. 1) He is a WORLD CHAMPION. Yet his promoter say's he needs more "learning fights". Either take the stabilisers off or don't have a world title, it's that simple. 2) People are more annoyed at the fact that we have to PAY to watch him face losers. You'd have to be from the UK to understand.
I don't know, sort of like how people still criticize Canelo Alvarez for having fought Cintron, Mosley, Josesito, Trout, Mayweather, Angulo, Lara, Kirkland, Cotto, Khan, and Smith consecutively all by the time he was Anthony Joshua's age. Oh, wait, he's younger... It's all opinion and, mostly, all relative. He holds a belt and only has one victory over a top ten opponent. That will always draw criticism.
I think Hearn made the Wlad fight because he knows he's pushed the PPV envelope too far already and losing to ATG Wlad is recoverable, should that happen. Less of a risk than taking a loss to Parker or Wilder. Plus 'fast car' does like to earn a few bucks....
I agree. His resume for someone with so little fights is fine. Yes he won the title but the was simply because an opportunity arose. Martin was so bad that they knew it was a easy way to win the belt. His career is being managed just fine. Also will add I don't believe everyone is lining up to face Joshua. Wilder defiantly doesnt want that.
I am from the UK and I wouldn't exactly call Wlad a "learning fight" & lets not forget they tried to get this fight before Molina fight and Pulev also avoided AJ too, which seems to be overlooked, Molina was one of the few options they had left as most of the top guys were tied up.
nobody elite as of yet, he is just a exciting young dude with only 18 fights, naturally the casuals are going to start over hyping the hell out of him.
David Haye has been negotiating with team Bellew since Bellew beat Flores. Haye was taking no other fight before that payday. Plus more importantly we all know they tries to make the Vlad fight. Once Wlad pulled out it was all about trying to find someone who would take it.
Yep! This is my problem w/ Wilder as a titlist too. If you hold a belt, you don't to act like a prospect anymore, or take easy gimmes. They're on the pot already, time to sh*t.
I don't understand criticism for Anthony Joshua either. His two defenses were completely understandable in the world of boxing, he was going to pack the arenas and earn huge money no matter who he fought and he's young, name me one boxer (other than Lomachenko) who would be in a rush to fight an elite fighter immediately in his position? Also, Molina was actually a late replacement and was pretty much the best possible option at the moment. Now he took the Klitschko fight even though he could have easily made another easier defense against some borderline top 10 HW.
