In his first fight since the Melindo blowout, Yaegashi stopped his overmatched opponent in the 2nd round. Yaegashi will now compete at super flyweight, do you guys think he can become Japan's first 4 division world champion?
I'm so mad it wasn't televised. (so were loads of raging shōnen on Twitter; reading the rough Engrish translations of their incredulous tweets provided me like an hour of entertainment last night )
Didnt he retire? He's been looking bad for a while. I thought he got lucky to get the decision against Martin Tecuapetl. And that was years ago.
Yeah, he was never the same fighter after those back to back kayo losses to Chocolatito & Pedrín in 2014. When he was KO1ed by Melindo last year I knew he was completely done. I'm just hoping Yaegashi doesn't get hurt in this comeback; he was a longtime fave of mine.
Long live Yaegashi! I say a big no to the question of him becoming a 4 division titlist. Though I'd be thrilled to be wrong.
