http://www.mmafighting.com/2011/09/...o-drop-to-welterweight-wants-to-train-with-g/ Finally! DFW probably forced this but im glad its finally happened. Lets see if he can be competitive at 170.
This is a good move for him. Hopefully he can get a nice win and keep his spot in the UFC because really hes 0-4 in the UFC IMO. Having a revelevant Akiyama would be great for the UFC in Japan next year.
He should drop out of MMA. Really, WhereTF is he going? Its not like he needs the money, hes famous back in Japan.
Hopefully they give him a slightly easier fight at 170. It was clear he had to drop to 170 or get cut. Dana loves a fighter so he only wants to cut them if he has to. Hardy has decided to take a year off and Akiyama drop a weight. There was a time when people said Guida was going to be cut after 2 straight losses but his style will keep him around. If you come to fight and pay the price because of it then I do think you deserve one more strike before you are out.
if he cuts the weight then it won't help his cardio issues. if he trains harder and eats better to make the weight then it could get him in better shape.
