:think This relative unknown has improved himself and just knocked out Kang a big name 185lb'er in Pride. Potential threat to other 185lb'ers in the world?
Well as i said before about kang he was just a name and hadn't proved anything against the top guys so i don't know how akiyama will fair.
Wouldnt really call Kang a big name.He hasnt really fought any names of any note. And when he was in PRIDE he was barely even a contender although he did go on a long unbeaten streak and held a win over Ninja.
Akiyama is very good, I was definately surprised that he won by a standing KO, not so much surprised that he won.
The only thing that really can be drawn from this is confirmation that Akiyama is really ****ing good.
So was Jeff Monson until Sylvia stopped his streak. But analyse there competition. Who did they truly beat:hi:
Akiyama is a very good fighter, his match with Melvin Manhoef was really entertaining. But then again Manhoef has a very weak ground game
remember what i told you about this fight? http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=22932 it was certainly no surprise to me...(though i was expecting him to submit kang)
Wow, he looks really really small for a 185lb'er. I reckon he's a natural 185lb'er. Didn't stop him from KO'ing Kang but if he goes to the UFC he might have trouble with certain fighters who cut from LHW and above.
