I don't like Al, at least not as a commentator... (He never knows what he's talking about) But I would say the reason he steers clear of talking about the obvious corruption in boxing is becuz A. U never really know for sure... Sometimes it's corruption, other times its just people not knowing how to do their job... So it's easier to not say anything now and not wind up with egg on ur face later B. It hurts the sport to talk about it, and he likely knows it
I disagree with you about Bernstein as a commentator. But your reasons for him not speaking about corruption could be right. Al's quite a humble guy, he probably knows better than to make suggestions/accusations about things he has limited knowledge of. He mainly deals in facts, and that I like about him. When he does deal in opinions you'll notice a lot of the time he'll ask a rhetorical question, rather than make a statement. He's easy to listen to.
