    Hilarious...

Did I not state that David Haye would be the next Sultan Ibragimov, and the Klitschko fight would end being almost exactly the same, with a dull 12 round decision loss?

So how will Haye be remembered at HW?

    :think

    David Haye-Sultan Ibragimov

    Attributes:
Similar height, exaggerated crouching stance, long arms, speed, power, and excellent technical skills.

    Criticisms:
often lacking killer instinct and aggression

    Best HW Wins:
    Valuev/Ruiz-Briggs/Holyfield

    Against Wladimir Klitschko
    Shut out 12 round losses.

    After Wladimir Klitschko
    Retirement.

    Don't doubt me, people.

I said the same and gambled on it accordingly with Wlad on points at odds of 4/1. In reality Eddie Chambers apart from the final 20 seconds against Wlad put up a far better fight than Haye.

Marginal difference, I would say. Both were equally ineffective. Splitting hairs, really.

Haye deserves respect for breathing life into the HW division and getting alot of general fans to watch, however you have to deliver.

If loads of people who don't normally watch boxing tune in to see a fight and then the fight is a dud it can actually do more harm than good because some of those fans may think, 'Boxing is boring. This is a mega fight and this is the best you get? Im going back to MMA'.

Now im not saying that Haye fought a cowardly fight. Defensively he was good and his plan to neutralise Wlads best weapon (his jab) so as he couldn't set up that big straight right was also good. My problem with Haye in the fight was his attacking game plan.

Wlad is bigger, has a long reach and moves backwards the second his opponent shows any forward aggression. Therefore, Haye's plan of leaping in out of range with wide, winging shots is just not good enough. Yes it may have worked against smaller fighters or the bigger but slower Valuev but Wlad is big, athletic and extremely cautious. Going into the fight with this plan is bad enough but, not going to a plan B during the fight when plan A is clearly not working is shocking.

It is a shame after all the talk and all the interest shown in the fight from none fight fans that Haye failed to give it a good shot, not because he was scared or because he hurt his toe, but because, offense-wise, he was very amatuerish.

Al Bernstein is 100 % right ..Whatever life he put into the HW division he sucked it all out by his disgraceful performance ! He truly is and was highly delusional ! Retiring at 31 in the manner that he did is a slap in the face to any legend ! Good riddance !!:good

Does any of that really matter when you show up to the actual fight and refuse to engage, fall to the canvas, and look to the referee for help after getting hit with a legal punch? Then after the fight is over pull your shoe off and blame the loss on a little toe? Seriously? David Haye disgraced the sport and his people with his performance.

But I guess since he talked and talked that made everything OK?:rofl:patsch

He didn't deliver a huge event only promised one. He delivered one of the biggest duds in the history of the sport and that's what he's going to be remembered for :-(

So Haye/Wlad wasn't a huge event? Name me a bigger heavyweight fight since Lewis retired.

His performance is secondary to what he actually did. Boxing is entertainment and for that reason, Haye was hugely beneficial to the sport. He made people care about boxing, so whilst his performance may not have been great, he did what he said he would.

The division was almost dead before Haye arrived. He had a good run and created massive amounts of interest and now the division will suffer without him. Nobody can deny this.

Haye was a disgrace, and people defending defending the Wlad fight must just really really hate the Klitschkos to say that what Haye did was good in any way at all.. what he did was just as bad as S. Ibragimov... actually it was worse, because Sultan didn't talk that much **** and wear shirts with decapitated heads and talked about how **** the Klitschkos were.

Nothing worse in my book then a **** talker who doesn't back it up.

Wlad didn't get busted up more. He had one tiny scratch under the eye, which was of course very visible because of his bright skin. Haye did have a fat lip though, his speech was clearly affected during the "toe-interview". And he was very quick to put on his giant sunglasses to hide his and swellings and redness around his eyes.

He left no lasting benefit, and his star power is gone. He did a disservice to boxing, the only one who benefited from all of it was Haye cashing a big check and getting the **** out. He didn't help the division, he didn't help the fans, and he sure as hell didn't help the sport.. he left a black eye on all of it.
