No, I don't think he'll win every round because Rigo goes stretches without landing as well. Marroquin had a tight guard and was stopping the straight left through the middle rounds. I think he'll be getting the better of it overall because his defense is better and his left hand is more diverse than Donaire's hook. He'll have stretches where he makes Donaire look foolish. Hell, he might put him down on a flash KD.

Donaire got frustrated with Nishioka, because Nishioka was actually coming forward. Just not throwing any punches. Donaire had no answer and was content to throw 30 punches per round.

One of the reason's i picked Rigo on points is Donaire is never quite as effective when he's the one who has to come forward and be the aggressor which i think he'll end up doing in this fight.

When he does come forward he can become very sloppy trying to throw haymakers with every punch and relying on his natural athleticism to get him out of trouble...the thing is though he hasn't faced a boxer like Rigo in his whole career who counters as well and punches with such pinpoint accuracy and timing backed by good power that will hurt. I'd also say Rigo has faster hands too which could be a big factor in the fight too.

I can actually see RIGO effectively pick off Donaire round after round and can see Nonito become to unravel and get even wilder with his punches. I've never seen Donaire hurt let alone knocked down but i wouldn't be surprised if both things happen in this fight.

RIGO has lost concentration in previous fights, probably due to fighting so long at amateur level where he's only had to focus for 9 or 10 minutes. If he can sustain his concentration levels for the full 12 rds then i think he will make this fight pretty easy for himself. Also he has to watch out from going on auto-pilot and just doing enough to win, he definately has to get into fifth gear early and stay there as he's going to have to WIN the rounds rather then just outbox Donaire.

Of cause DONAIRE has exceptional one punch power and i wouldn't be surprised if he takes out RIGO in the 1st or 2nd rds, anything is possible when you have his kind of power.

    My prediction.

DONAIRE to win by KO only if he does it between Rounds 1 to 6

or if the fights makes it to the 7th Round:

RIGO to win either on a late stoppage probably on cuts or more likely a UD/MD/SD decision victory

Donaire is very selective with his punches, I just think he'll trigger one of Rigo's counters and punch through the opening it creates with a right hand. We'll see how impatient he becomes, Rigo himself might come out more offensive than usual. I don't remember Donaire becoming frustrated with Nishioka, just waiting for the right set-up. I'll take another look.

In the last minute of the 2nd round after Nishoka catches him a few times. Look how wild he gets when he can't respond. He's frustrated.

I think he's frustrated to a reasonable degree, he's not losing his cool, just trying to find openings after having none obliged to him. He's not so wild, he's stepping into his shots and his footwork allows him to maintain range, he's rarely off balance. But it is something Donaire is prone to.

He's throwing uppercuts from outside with his feet not set. All the while his chin is unprotected.

Funny enough, Nishioka's gameplan was pretty decent, he just wasn't active enough to make it work. Back Donaire up behind the high guard and right jab, and don't give any openings. I think Rigondeaux could do it better if his jab was better.

    yes.

larry merchant is horrible and lampley is an accused domestic violence suspect.

you get the feeling that bernstien has been in a few scraps and understands the streets with his calm demaeanor whereas both merchant and lampley come off as pussies who have never seen any sort of violence.

merchant claiming that he would kick floyds ass if he were 50 years younger is typical of what someone who had never been in a fight before would say because anyone who had even been in fights before would never say something so stupid.

In my view he was leaping into shots and calculating his immediate retreat. He looked more wild against Vasquez IMO, really winging shots with little caution.

Overall I think Nonito should try to execute more combinations. One or two punches at a time make it more difficult for himself than he has to.

    Generally this is my view.

Going to be a chess match, and either one could score a KO. Not for mainstream fans but true boxing fans will appreciate the skills.

I pick Donaire, I think Rigo is the better boxer but with Donaires control of range and height advantage, it makes it very hard to outbox him. Kinda like an SRL-Hearns, which means Rigo will have to try force his way inside which is not his game and risks getting KO'd.

    Probably Donaire UD.

It is true that Donaire struggled against guys who fight a defensive fight. He prefers guys to come at him. He struggles to crack defenses sometimes. He relies too much on his athleticism and can get reckless, always trying to land the big one.

    Can't wait for the fight.

Donaire will show his dominance in the ring right away in round 1.

Donaire jabbing is gonna get him countered heavily, Rigo's jab is also gonna keep Donaire off balance and frustrated. That is gonna make donaire try to lunge in to land something big. That is when the laser counter left will land and the fight will be over.
