Al Haymon gives the OK to Kovalev-Stevenson (Fall 2015)

Kovlaev is probably gonna fight 3 more times. i dont know where u guys get this only 2 fights a year time stuff. him and GGG dont care and will fight 4 times a year. they dont take any puinshment so yeah I see Kovalev fighting 3 more times. get Mohammedi out the way then Stevenson and somebody else in decemeber

 

Good, this is obviously better than Stevenson dropping the belt.

 

Michel said he wants the bid to go thru before the Mohammedi-Kovalev fight. He didn't say he wants Kovalev to not fight Mohammedi. So Kovalev, could fight his mandatory before a clash with Stevenson.

Plus, at the question: "who's dictating what". I am sure Kovalev liked the money of the 13,000 or so people who were in the stands in Montreal, and the PPV frow the Quebec crowd who watch the fight on TV. I was at a bar saturday and it was jam packed. Kovalev seems like a smart guy and will agree to bend on few things letting the Stevenson clan to decide in order to get that kind of money again. Belts are for recongnition and recongnition brings you money. You may have three out of four belts and the better boxer, if the other guy brings the money, he is the A side, plain and simple.

 

Haymon just wants to make sure Kovalev dont lose but he wont. so Kovalev can do his thing, haymon dont run him. and Kovalev anit dropping any belts which is great because we need an undisputed champ! :bbb:bbb

I've seen quite a few interviews that mention that pascal beat the hell out of Stevenson when they sparred each other

Now I don't put much stock in gym stories, and styles make fights, but there's a reason why Stevenson ducked Pascal and I think it's because he knows pascal can beat him

Imo Stevenson is an easier fight for Kovalev overall, but it's also more dangerous. I think Kovalev is better at every facet of the game, but Stevenson can knock anyone out with that big left hand

 

Mohamadi got paid to step aside for Pascal, you can't take step-aside money twice. I remember back in the 90's some #1 contender got dropped down in the ratings for that.

Stevenson is fighting Bika in 2 weeks anyway.

 

This fight aint happening. Not as long as Kovalev is contracted to HBO...

 

Kovalev is clearly more skilled.

 

Good stuff, I hope this fight is on NBC or CBS. Stevenson's next fight is on CBS, so I would guess CBS between the two
